This is hands-down the best budget mattress. I recently purchased 10 budget mattresses for a vacation home. The brands include Amazon basic, Ashley signature design, Zinus green tea, vibe gel, and Allswell. Hands-down Amazon basic was the best mattress. Allswell is a very comfortable mattress but it is twice the price is the Amazon basic. If I had to do it all over again I would buy all Amazon basic mattresses for my whole house. What I like about Amazon basic mattress. First let me say I don’t know anything about mattresses- the density foam or any of that stuff, but I I know what a good night sleep feels like on a nice mattress. The Amazon basic is soft, but not too soft. It Is a medium firmness mattress. It’s not a pillow top but it feels like tmakers put a soft layer on top and it gives you a good night sleep. That top layer on the Amazon basic is the main difference between the green tea, vibe gel, and Ashley mattresses. Those are firm and you do not sink into them like you do with the Amazon basic. My son sleeps on the green tea mattress and he hates it; he says that you can only fall asleep on that mattress when you’re dead tired. When Amazon has their prime day I am buying him the Amazon basic mattress. My sister-in-law stayed in the room with the vibe gel and I asked her how her sleep was and she said I’m still breaking in the mattress. In other words that’s a hard mattress. The Allswell mattress is a very good mattress, but it is a little too soft for my taste. the Amazon basic is a little bit firmer but still soft. Additionally the Allswell mattress was twice as much If I had to rank order my mattresses of the ones that I bought they would be: 1. Amazon basic 2. Allswell (too soft) 3. Vibe Gel (those who like a firm mattress) 4. Signature design by Ashley (meh) 5. Zinus Green tea (feels sleeping a rug with a premium padding) ... show more

Love my mattress. I read the reviews on here before I bought it. I have rheumatoid arthritis and my spouse has joint pains too. This mattress had been a life saver so far. One guy left a review that sold me on it. He was detailed and everything m. He actually came back years later and did a wonderful review as well. No noise when I move. The comfort is there. I had my previous mattress for over five years. It was a cheap-ish one that was definitely well past its prime from use. Changing to this new mattress was an instant dream. We recently moved and I couldn’t afford much more than we paid for this one, and also have yet to get a bed frame (new size for us). Now that I’m more used to this mattress, I can really appreciate it beyond being better than the old one. I never get overheated, I sink into it but have plenty of support, I’m never sore and I sleep HARD. I’ve also noticed that I don’t get woken up when my partner leaves the bed or is shuffling around- this is so huge to me because I am normally a very light sleeper and wake up for anything. Purchased the King, 12 inch mattress in Medium firmness approximately 1 year ago, and here are my insights: This is a great mattress for the price! This sucker is HEAVY, so you better have two people to move it and arrange it when the mattress arrives. Give it the full 48 hours to expand... when we unwrapped it, it did have a strong chemical smell to it, but we gave it the 48 hour recommended time to expand before using it, and the smell dissipated on its own without any extra work. I do NOT love a firm bed, and I feel this mattress is a little more firm than I expected it to be as a Medium (that's why the 4 stars instead of 5). That said, it is still very comfortable and I get a good nights sleep. It wasn't overly firm enough for me to go trough the hassle to return it, and honestly, if my mattress were to catch fire tomorrow and I needed to purchase a new one, I would probably buy this again, because I know it's comfortable and the quality is great. A year later of my husband and I laying in the same spots hasn't led to any breakdown or denting in the mattress. I do HIGHLY recommend a bug-proof and waterproof cover for it, I added one the first night after the 48 hour expansion period was over, and it has zero stains or wear, and still looks and feels brand new after 365 days of 2 adults and 2 dogs sleeping on it every night. ... show more

I waited about a month to write this review so I could test out the matress and make sure that it was a good fit and leave an honest review. So far it is good. We let it sit for about 72 hours after unboxing it. Probably could have slept on it sooner, but thats just how our plans worked out. My husband and I are both plus size people and this mattress works great for us. The matress was a lityle to stiff and firm the first night our two but after that was just fine. We do not feel each other's movements. It keeps its shap and firmness. It did smell a little plastic like for about a day but being vacuum sealed will do that. The material seems like it might rip or tear easily. Thats the one draw back I have seen, however I solved this by using a mattress cover to protect it. It is a true king size mattress. It fits me (5'9 295 pounds), my husband (6'0 420 pounds) our 3 cats and our two 50 pound dogs. Comfortablely. ... show more
