  • Good value extension cord, but make sure this is what you need
Size: 12' Style: 1-Pack Pattern Name: Power Cord
Quality extension cord but designed for a computer or similar device. It has three blade-type receptacles on the female end, and the standard two-blade plus one rounded on the male end. I neglected to notice this and needed the standard two-bladed plus one rounded receptacle on the female end, which Amazon also carries. Note my picture. Hope this helps avoiding your ordering the wrong plug. BTW, Amazon Basics is great and the packaging and returns as well. ... show more

  • Works as expected for my monitor.
Size: 10' Style: 1-Pack Pattern Name: Power Cord
Those who are giving it 1 star and saying it doesn't fit, must have been trying to use this as an extension cord... This is NOT an extension cord! Instead, this is used to power certain devices, like a monitor in my case. Other than that, it works great and doesnt come loose easily like other aftermarket cables I have tried ... show more

  • Great for original 2006 PS3
Size: 6' Style: 1-Pack Pattern Name: Power Cord
Did your old roommate take the power cord from your PlayStation 3? Maybe your dog decided to chew through it out of boredom. Whatever happened you can know that this power cord will work with your original, non-slim, "fat" PlayStation 3. How do I know which PS3 model I have? If your PlayStation 3 says "PLAYSTATION 3" on the top of the console, than this cord is for you. If your PlayStation 3 only says "PS3" on the top of your console, than this cord will NOT work. The quality of the cord feels great and I trust it to power my electronics without worrying about any problems like heat or shorts in the cable. ... show more

  • Perfect length for my wall-mounted HDTV
Size: 3' Style: 1-Pack Pattern Name: Power Cord
The media could not be loaded. This is a review of the AmazonBasics Power Cord - 3-Foot, Black I recently wall-mounted my HDTV and needed a shorter AC power cord. This one popped up in my search on Amazon, the price was right, so I gave it a go. It's perfect for the job. Just the right length to give me enough leeway to adjust the HDTV on the wall-mount yet not too long to cause a lot of clutter. Perfect. ... show more

  • Does not account for prong size
Size: 1' Style: 1-Pack Pattern Name: Power Cord
The product is overall exactly what it describes and is at a good price. The only reason I give 4 stars is because I wish it made it more obvious that the socket end of the cable does not handle all prongs. I was hoping to use this to connect to my lights but because one prong ( the metal part) of its cable is larger it does not fit into the socket end of this cable. So make sure whatever you connect to has prongs of the correct size. Also just in case people do not know I would just like to put a reminder that most circuit breakers are rated at 15 amps while this cable is only rated at 10 amps. In general you should be fine, but check what you will use it for because running 15 amps through 10 amp cable is a fire risk. ... show more

  • The female socket dimensions is bad
Size: 6' Style: 1-Pack Pattern Name: Power Cord
The female socket dimensions is bad, can't even fit its own male connector. Firstly the +ve and -ve terminal is smaller than standard size, can't fit any male connector to it. I personally tried on multiple devices. And the earth socket is not circular. Most common appliance have circular earth connector not strip. Poor engineering. ... show more

  • My power cord
Size: 12' Style: 1-Pack Pattern Name: Power Cord
Glad it worked---thanks for sending one that worked, as it would have been tiresome and potentially deadly to have to take the time to return it---I appreciate this kind of attention to what some might consider is a minor detail--- At this stage in my life I find I have collected power cords for so many items that have since fallen into oblivion and now have begun running out of space to store them--" Certainly" I thought to myself --" there is no way I need to purchase another power cord with so many of these others just laying around ?" But of course I was wrong, none of these would fit the medical device that helps me stay alive each day. Otherwise why bother ? --I mean really---there are great piles of old power cords sitting around in thrift stores with nothing to attach or plug themselves into !--Sad really--- this human detritus awaiting it's moment to turn return back to a life of useful bliss---Not unlike the one I used to know before the accident--But I'm sure that's not appropriate to talk about here. ... show more

  • At least one of them was broken, which I didn't realize until too late.
Size: 6' Style: 5-Pack Pattern Name: Power Cord
The very first cable right on top was broken, but I didn't realize that until much later. I first used it to power a classic computer, a Mac Plus. The Mac Plus is an old computer that can have problems after all these years. It started to reboot randomly, and then I could barely get it to power on at all. At first, I just thought it was the Mac Plus, and bought over $100 worth of stuff to fix it... Later, I used the same power cord to power a different, modern computer. And surprise, surprise, it displayed the exact same symptoms! What are the odds, right? At first, it rebooted part way into using it, then it would reboot during start up, and finally couldn't start up at all. Wow, two computer of totally different eras, makes, and models displaying the same symptoms, how odd right? Well it turns out both computers work fine when I plug in a working power cord. No problems at all. The problem is that the power cord is broken, and anything it plugs into has problems as a result. Look, I know manufacturing stuff is hard, and defects occasionally happen, but this is an important component to get right. If even one has a defect (especially the first right on top!) someone like me might end up spending hundreds of dollars that they don't have to, thinking some product is broken when really it's the power cord. After all, who suspects the power cord? The fact that I wasted over $100 on stuff I don't need as a result of a cheap power cord is infuriating. Worse, the product is Amazon branded, and shipped from and sold by Amazon. I thought Amazon was a brand I could trust with something like a power cord. I've never had any problems with any other Amazon Basics stuff, or with Amazon in general. If I had known these had occasional reliability issues, I could have maybe realized sooner that maybe the cord was broken, but the reviews are all great. I wish someone had warned me "hey some of these might not work." Maybe all the other power cords are fine, I sure hope so, but you should be aware that at least some of these are defective. The other thing is that this might potentially be a fire hazard depending on how the cord is broken and what you use it for. The cord looks visually fine, and the packaging and everything was fine on arrival as well. There was zero indication that anything might be wrong. Just be aware, some of these are defective. You get what you pay for, I guess. ... show more
