Worked super well. I had a stack of papers to shred it made short work of them all. Just make sure you don’t have too many papers. Tried shredding 12 papers instead of 8 and nothing bad happened, but it did fail to shred the papers. I also like that you can move the shredder component to a different bin if you want, so I could shred directly into my recycling trash can. ... show more

This is my out of the box first impression of the shredder. I bought this for the sole purpose of shredding paper for crafting projects. So far it's a disappointment. The first two pictures show what the results were when I shredded old photographs. This has a capacity of four sheets of paper so since photo paper is thicker, I only use four pictures. As you can see from the pictures the shredding was less than great. First off, the pictures were pulled into the shredder at an angle even though I placed them straight. The edges were jagged and how a straight shredder shreds and an angle or a curve is baffling to me. I tried three different times and each time I got an unfavorable result. None of the pieces are even, some are curved some are jagged. Some of the middle pieces were straight but the edges were still not smooth. It will be more time consuming for me to go through each piece of paper picking out the good ones and throwing away the bad ones than it would be if I just take a rotary cutter and a ruler and just cut them by hand. Not what I expected. Maybe it's not built for anything beyond regular paper but I figure if it can shred CDs and credit cards, a few photos shouldn't be a problem. Next I shredded two sheets of plain white paper. I only use two sheets of plain white paper. The third picture shows what the edges of the paper look like. Not only did it wrinkle the paper, but it also didn't give it complete shred. The middle part of the paper came out fine but both edges came out looking like garbage. I will keep experimenting for a few days but I'm definitely saving the boxes for this in case I decide to return it. I got this to save time and make my projects easier.
