  • Perfect replacement for my dead shredder
Size: 8 Sheet - Black
I had my previous shredder for at least 10 years. Didn't use it daily, only to get rid of all that excess mail you get through the mailbox. It finally crocked. Saw this one and after checking the reviews, siad this seems to be the one. Much less noise of my last one, takes more than just one sheet (better than my last one), and shreds to the point that if I was dealing in secret things at the house, this would be the perfect one. Great especially for the price, I was very happy. ... show more

  • The hype is real - It shreds boxes no problem
Size: 24 Sheet
I wanted something that could shred cardboard including packaging boxes and material. It totally does and more. It even will do double sided cardboard if you help push it in. I use what a shread as bedding for my ducks and other farm animals. The rest goes into the compost pile. It of course does paper just fine as well but the real benefit of this product is being able to shred cardboard so well. Note: I did add shredding machine oil before I used it. That seems to help a lot. I had no jams or miscuts. ... show more

  • Amazon Basics 6 Sheet Cross Cut shredder
Size: 6 Sheet
The unit is slightly smaller than I imagined. That is fine. It doesn't take up a large space, and I am not shredding as much as I used to in the past. I tested the shredder using six (6) pieces of paper. You can hear the motor slow down at that capacity. It will shred the paper, but I can tell there is a load on the unit. I usually limit my unit to three (3) sheets maximum. The shredder does do a cross cut of the paper. It makes small strips 1 3/4" long and 3/16" wide. It does not make a confetti type (small squares) cut like I had with my old machine. If I wanted greater security I would get another unit. I am happy with this one. ... show more

  • You will need a vaccuum or a broom when you empty this shredder
Size: 8 Sheet - Black
Based on the many reviews, a very positive review on wirecutter, and of course the price, I opted for this one. The good: it does the job. It's fairly noisy with just a sheet or two. It actually runs more quietly if you shred more sheets rather than fewer. And most importantly, it chugs along and does the job well. It ran continuously longer than rated. But... emptying the collector creates a mess. There's not a very good way to know how full the bin is. To empty the bin, you lift off the head off. shreds will rain down some. Second, there's no really good way to lay the head down except upside down. I lean it against the wall where it sorta balances (I do my shredding in the garage). Don't try to remove the shreds from the head - the cutters are very close and you can poke yourself (speaking from experience here). Third, when you emptying the bin, it's EASY to make a mess. The shreds can and will fly around. The bin doesn't fit nicely into a grocery bag unless it's empty. I guess you could use a plastic bag. There's also a nice mist of paper that will plume when you dump the shreds. All said, the shredder works well, but the engineering on dealing with the shreds could be much improved. The impact is you should expect to have to clean up the debris when you empty the bin. ... show more

  • AWESOME
Size: 6 Sheet
We got this shredder because we get a TON of junk mail. It's pretty fast and gets the job done. It is a tad bit noisy bit I don't think you'll find one that isn't. You can put a decent amount of paper through it without it jamming, easy to transport around the house. Very durable and easy to use! Would definitely recommend. ... show more

  • More than paper...
Size: 24 Sheet
I got the one that can do 24 sheets at once because I planned on putting things like cardboard, torn up egg cartons and other compostable things through it. It handles cardboard from boxes easily as I would expect a 24-sheet shredder to be able to do. Others here have said they got it for that, so I echo their comments. It's also quite quiet. ... show more

  • Perfect for small jobs
Size: 8 Sheet - Black
I just had to put it through the test. It jammed. It overheated. And it stopped working. I thought I broke it. It started working again an hour later. It shredded a large box of documents that was building up for several years Once I kept it around 5 o 6 sheets at a time and nothing more than a few minutes at a time. Shredding during commercial breaks seemed to work.i just need to remember I have it and use it. ... show more

  • It shreds like it’s supposed to!
Size: 6 Sheet
I bought one of these is 2020 and it lasted 4 years. Then while moving I dropped it on a hard floor and it stopped working, I can’t really blame it, so I bought another. What I also leanrec is don’t feed too many sheets of paper at once! You can un-jam it by reversing but be patient and feed less sheets at a time. Also you have to clean out the “teeth” once in a while. In other words, follow the directions. ... show more
