This is a basic smaller binocular, which I purchased to see if it would be adequate for use by a troop of Cub Scouts, ages 6 to 10. In fact, construction is reasonably sturdy, the focus wheel works fairly well and the 7X power is appropriate for a beginning user. Optically it is adequate certainly not as good as most of my other binoculars, but for the intended purpose, birding and other nature work with children, I think it’s a reasonable choice, and its price is very attractive. ... show more

Eyepieces are slightly misaligned (out of collimation) which makes using them very annoying since it's difficult to view an object with both eyes.

These compact binoculars are good for casual use such as for viewing the stage at a concern when you're seated in the back. But I think that for serious use cases, such as boating or bird watching, I'd want a better pair with bigger lenses. At first I had a bit of trouble trying to adjust the spacing so that the viewing circles for both of my eyes were aligned. Ultimately, I figured out that it worked better if I held the binoculars slightly in front of my eyes rather than putting them tightly against my face. The images are clear and I had no trouble adjusting the focus to accommodate my vision in both eyes, I like that the product includes a protective carrying case and that it has a belt loop so I can put it on my belt and not have to carry it. It includes a lens cover for the eyepiece lenses but truthfully, it is much too loose and I'm sure I'd loose it quickly unless I tether it to the binoculars. Fortunately, both the binoculars and the lens cover have places that can be used to tether the cover. Being smaller, it's no surprise that this item is light weight. That, coupled with its small size also means it could easily fit into a medium size woman's handbag or even a large fanny pack. Overall, I like this product and for the price, I think it can serve its purpose. But as I started this with, I think it is best suited for casual use or perhaps even as a first pair for a child - its size, weight, and cost could be perfect for a young person.
