My house wiring and the light fixtures are from the sixties and these bulbs work in all the places that had incandescent bulbs. A couple of light fixtures are small and so I need a "smaller" bulb to fit. It would cost money to replace the light fixtures, and I usually replace all electrical fixtures when I modernize a room.
