The hatchet has a sturdy handle but is not that sharp on arrival. I had to use a sharpening stone to get it to a manageable sharpness. Handle length is good for a nice chopping motion. It does the job.

they fit comfortably in your hand and the blades are very sharp. They cut a large stem on my tomato plant, but could not cut the same 3/4" dead branch, but would cut the smaller ones. they are a better value than the Dollar Tree trimers on the small stuff
