Surprised and pleased that this toaster is really efficient and dependable . I have put it to the test everyday for two weeks and am pleased that once I set the toaster on 4 for unfrozen toast it is so evenly toasted . I like my toast a little darker and crunchy. I have used the frozen method as well and also used the 4 setting. I use bakery bread from the grocery store that is sliced in oval slices and they pop up just fine. It takes only a couple of toastings to get the hang of this new toaster. I like the smaller size and the black color that blends in. Just plain and simple and it works.

Finally! a toaster that works right. I have tried a couple of other brand name toasters and my toast was never right and they couldn't handle thicker bread/buns. This toaster is great. My bread is toasted just at the setting I put it on and it handles my buns. Very happy with my Amazon Basics toaster.

I’m very pleased with this toaster. It’s lightweight and I love that. It has a toast crumb tray that you can just pull out an easy to clean. It matches all of my other appliances and it also has a defrost button.

We really like the looks of this toaster. The silver front shines against the black sides. So simple to use. It will defrost frozen bread, toast a bagel or 2 pieces of toast. I like medium and partner likes dark toast but no problem in easily switching the button back and forth. I see the toasting area is large enough for any fat bagel I could toast. Nothing fancy but how fancy do you really need your toaster to be? My 4 slice huge toaster was failing to do anything but burn toast. Time for a new 2 slice to save counter space. So inexpensive too for Amazons basic toaster. If I get a year out of it, I’m a winner. I want it to last and see no problem. I’m just saying $23 isn’t a lot if I need a new one again. I’m thankful for the quick delivery. Ordered last night and it arrived this afternoon.

Kind of cheaply made, but what isn't. Works okay. The last two positions on the rotary switch should be labeled as slightly burned, and burnt to a crisp. Slot sizes are bagel approved. Looks cheap up close, but okay from afar. Crumb trays are in the back requiring the unit to be turned around to empty them. Small things all.

Great choice if you’re just looking for something basic. Needed a little space saver on my son’s counter at his house and this is what he was looking for. So far so good toast great and has options for heat. Definitely worse the price.

Ok, as a very basic toaster. One issue is that the bagel setting toasts unevenly. The top is lighter than the bottom and yes, the bagel is fully seated all the way down in the slot. Temperature dial is accurate.

The instructions say that YOU MUST RUN THE TOASTER EMPTY FOR 3 OR 4 CYCLES BEFORE YOU TOAST BREAD. There will be an odor of burning when you do this, but it's NORMAL. Running the toaster without bread burns off any residue left behind from the manufacturing process. Other than that, the toaster doesn't toast all the way to the edges, but I wouldn't even have noticed that unless I read other reviews. As far as I'm concerned, the toaster works great, and at the price it's a terrific bargain. Online reviewers also rated it as the best budget toaster.
