I love this burner! It heats up super fast & cooks like a dream. Cant remember what cooking on a conventional stove top burner is like, thank God! & Thank Amazon! If you need a burner that isn't attached to your stove to use for "whatever" this is the burner for you. Amazon always has a grace period for returns & returns are so super easy these days, (you don't even have to leave your home, UPS will come to you to pick up your return) that you have nothing to lose by purchasing this burner except knowledge of what a great burner should be! The worst, least intuitive controls. I need to push Power before Start/Stop? And if you push Start/Stop first, it doesn't let you do anything; it just blinks red LEDs. In fact, no matter what, red LEDs are blinking unless it's unplugged. I could never get the timer to work.

Okay, I bought this when my 20-year-old Bruton one quit. Was tickled that I could make payments as I am on a fixed income. Plugged it in, and it was a bit different but nothing major. I have used it a few times and I have a glitch that is a bit frustrating. Sometimes, when you are cooking and you are done. You have to unplug it. or it will turn back on. If you want to turn it back on right after you cooked, Getting it to show levels of heat becomes impossible. You have to yank the cord out and then wait an interminably long time for it to reset. I will say that it works great when it's on
