I’ve had this shredder for a month now and it has worked great so far. It handles paper, credit cards, junk mail (even full envelopes), and cardboard with ease. I often break down Amazon boxes that will fit through the slot and it shreds them without any trouble. The shredded cardboard works great as mulch if you need it. Appears to be a Solid build, smooth operation, and definitely worth the purchase. I had the smaller Amazon 8 page shredder before that I used for several years. The old smaller on still works great as well, but I needed something that could handle larger loads. This one has not disappointed me so far.

This unit is quiet, doesn't overheat easily and handles a good bit of paper. The only negative is the red light. It has a red light that indicates that the unit is on, but I always think there's an overheat or an error with it. I end up turning it off so there is no red light.

I have not even had this shredder a year purchase last June, it is now March. The shredder aspect works great no complaints there, but the CD/DVD/Credit card shredder is where the issue lies. I barely use this feature, but the cards get stuck inside and I have tried to insert them horizontally and vertically. I had to get them out with a wire and wiggle them so they go down the right slot inside to get shredded and it's not even a cross-cut shred on that so information can still be exposed. Amazon brands are generally not so bad and if it were not for this issue with the other shredder on this, I would give it 5 stars. Its a shame that there is an issue so soon. so if you will be shredding these types of materials, I would research further for something that is known to be able to last.

I love this shredder. Easily shreds muple pages of paper, as well as cardboard. Only one jam in a year, and it was easily cleared.

I can't see this product lasting long. It seems extremely overpriced for what it is. It arrived and immediately I noticed a rattling sound. Upon inspection I noticed that parts of the plastic internals had completely shattered during shipping. Even with just the flimsy, singular piece of brown paper in the shipping box, I can't see a well made product breaking so easily. It seems cheap and not well made. It's slow to shred a single piece of paper. My 20 year old "other brand" shredder is the same speed to shred, even slightly faster but also much more efficient, even at just 10 sheets vs this 18. I have no confidence in this shredder and will be looking elsewhere. Keep in mind when buying this particular size, that it's very heavy and at least in my case, wasn't packaged well, which could lead to problems down the road. I don't know if they all have this weak plastic in the same place. Maybe that's why some other reviewers talk of melting and smoking? The power light stays lit at all times unless using the power switch on the back of the unit in addition to the auto button (redundant) but which doesn't make much sense because the manual states to always unplug the unit when not in use. This seems like a strange warning to me. It seems fairly quiet compared to older shredders. This item is made in China

Great value. 18 sheets is much better than my old one. You can get through a lot of paper fairly quickly. It goes through CD’s and credit cards with no trouble. It’s a little quieter than I expected or maybe my old one was just loud.

Good for feeding shredded cardboard to my worm bin. Saves me hecka money adding brown material to the compost pile. This thing shreds thick boxes like hot knives thru whatever -its good. Worth the money.
