This mattress protector has protected my toddler's twin mattress from so much pee, vomit, blood, and beverage spills. Nothing has penetrated through it. It has held up well without any noticeable degradation in quality despite many cycles in the washer and dryer. (I wash with cold water and tumble dry on low.) I was a little surprised by the terrycloth feel of the cover, but it's good quality, especially for the price. It fits snugly, but not so tight that it's impossible to get over the mattress. It seems to provide good protection for the mattress!
