This thing is like bringing sunlight into your garage. My son needed more light in his garage than the pitiful incandescent lighting was providing so I got him this one and while checking it out (the box looked beat up a bit and I was concerned about damage) I thought I might blind myself; I mean this thing is REALLY bright. Obviously, there is no skill needed to install it unless you are incapable of screwing in a lightbulb and you have 4 vanes with 2 smaller side vanes on each of them which means you can adjust to light up every dark corner so this is an easy 5 Star rating, go get one

I have installed these lights in one of the sheds on my property. They are very bright and make the space very easy to see, even in the darkest corners of the shed. The additional wings on each petal are of limited use compared with other lights that have more petals, but like to see some outside of the box thinking. The housings are all plastic, which is a bit of a let down. The petals are entirely plastic other than the led module and bit of aluminum behind the led module. If the petals were any kind of metal it would greatly help with heat dissipation. The shed these lights are installed in do not have the lights turned on for more than a couple of minutes at a time, so not a huge concern for where I have them installed, but if someone were to use these in a situation where the lights are on continuously for long periods of time the fixtures may get very hot and shorten the life of the LEDs, one star lost. In opening the main housing the construction of the circuit board is good.

If you are installing this in anything that is in any way recessed, you'll probably need a socket extension, like the one in my picture. It is something extra I had and not included. Once you get them installed, they are insanely bright. Parts of it get extremely hot almost instantly, so figure out how you want to position it with it off, or risk blisters. It is very easy to manipulate when it isn't as hot as a frying pan. It also can be manipulated into quite a few different shapes. Will the extreme heat impact longevity? Time to find out! It went in on 8/16/2022. I'll be back later with updates.

Upgraded from a 3-wing light in the garage to this. Was hoping for a little bit more, but i still have a secondary bench light. One limit these lights have is a full 180 hinge, that would give me a bit more light if I could focus the far panel down. Measurements were in lux not lumens unfortunately

I was using standard 100w equivalent LED bulbs in a shed. The shed is 8 ft x 12 ft. It had two bulbs. I installed this in the socket farthest from the door, thinking, there would be natural light from the doorway to help it. I turned the light on and was blinded. I had the panel facing me vertical so the light output was like the sun in my face. I turned around to close the door to see and I swear I think I could see my shadow in broad daylight on the ground! LOL.....ok, maybe not so much but there is bright and then there is HOLY COW BRIGHT! I am thinking about replacing the old shop lights in my garage with regular bulb sockets with pull chains and these lights. It would be more efficient, better lighting, and I could turn them all on or one at a time. This is definitely a 5 star product. It arrived quickly and well, was super easy to install. If you put this light in a closet, you will need sunglasses. But I bet you discover clothes you thought we long gone!!!

‘Lo these last couple of decades I’ve been chugging along with my florescent garage light. Not brilliant, as it were, but it got the job done… until it failed. I even had six extra florescent bulbs in the attic, in such an event. But not an extra ballast. That is when I realized what a “museum piece” I had become. Trying to get a replacement is like going to your favorite auto parts store and asking for a buggy whip. Fortunately, once again, the Vine Program came to the rescue, with these excellent LED lights. I’d come up with a better term than “deformable,” but that is a very minor quibble. “Adjustable” and “Directional” come to mind. The key quality, as the other reviewers have noted: BRIGHT. I’d guess at least five times brighter than the old florescent bulbs, not having a lumens meter. The other part is the EASY installation. Admittedly the old florescent fixture was not plugged in via a standard 120 v. socket. Had to go to my favorite big box store, bought a standard socket fixture for 2 bucks or so (yes, still in these inflationary times), easily wired the socket into the ceiling outlet, and screwed in the deformable LED light. Voila, brightness reigns. I’m at that stage in life where I am looking for products that will be good “for the duration.” The deformable lights appear to be in that category. Thus, at $30, they are excellent value for the money. Attached are two photos, on and off. Note the brownish unpainted area on the ceiling is where the florescent fixture used to be.
