I wanted to install LED lighting in my single car garage and originally purchased 4-ft LED lights from Home Depot. After doing some initial testing before installation, I was very disappointed with the brightness and installing them presented several challenges with insufficient clearance and ceiling rafter location issues so I returned them. I decided to go with installing traditional round porcelain screw in sockets which also allows me the option to turn off any lights I don't want on using the on/off pull chain plus they have an AC power outlet if ever needed. If the screw in LED lights ever go bad then I'll just unscrew the bad light and screw in the new one...no fuss, no muss!! After reading many Amazon reviews of different fan type LED lights I settled on these and have been very happy with them so far. They are very bright but not blinding to look directly at them and there is no shadowing effect or dark areas. I also have a garage security camera and these adjustable blade lights allowed me to direct light away from the camera to avoid any glare and it's worked out perfectly. I bought extra lights to replace the standard incandescent bulbs in my attic spaces with these as well. I can't speak to the longevity of these lights but after several weeks they've been great without any issues and I'm happy every time I get to use them. These lights are very bright. Just what we needed for our garage. We can finally see everything in our garage at night It is more light than during the day. Now the true test will come this winter if they can survive negative temperatures as we live in the upper midwest. My husband was very impressed with my purchase. I bought these to replace a similar product in the garage. The old one ran almost constantly for about 3 years before it started flickering. Same design but with only 3 petals, these new ones have more and a center light and man it is BRIGHT. with the extra petals it projects light to just about every part of my garage on its own. I have four overhead sockets in a two bay garage. I bought four of these and installed them. Well, installed is the wrong term. I screwed them in. Easy. Then I flipped the switch. The result was like those flash grenades SWAT teams use to disorient bad actors when breaching a building. Except I think those only last a fraction of a second. In my case it was like a sustained moment of personal transcendence, a UFO landing, and the last one hundred dawns all crowding the same day at once. I turned off the power, removed two of these fixtures, aimed the ... "petals?" to distribute light and still had plenty of illumination. Recommended especially if you have higher ceilings.
