I HATE a dark shop so I may have overcompensated a bit with these but .... wow - they do put out the light! I have a 900 sqft shop that I bought the 10, 8' light package to light. The arrangement on the ceiling was evenly spaced, 4 rows of 3 lights spaced 80" apart (yes, I am 2 lights short - will order them soon). The shop currently has dark surfaced wood and no real reflective values for the ambient light - the room pretty much absorbs the light without bouncing it around. Even with poor reflection -the shop absolutely radiates light! I am 2 8 footers short and it is still amazing! My only complaint is that IF you look directly at them, you will have a similar effect to looking directly at the sun (temporary tattooing of the light picture to your vision). There are no diffusers incorporated into this design and with the higher output lights and lower ceilings (my shop) it makes it easy to see them in your periphery and get this effect. I doubt higher ceilings will have this issue and to be clear - I DON'T REALLY SEE THIS AS A PROBLEM. To be fair - I DID buy a really bright 6500 series light. And I still love them. Install was a breeze - you may consider adding a bit more bend the clips to give them a little more grip but there are plenty of them so this will likely not be an issue. I ran mine across 4' centered ceiling rafters - a closer spacing would provide a lot more security FYI. Shipping - I believe the risk of OOPS or FEDAX damaging the longer lights in transit is a bit more likely than the shorter ones (mine arrived with slight damage but not unusable). I preferred longer lights believing they are easier to install over longer distances and have a smoother look to them when completed. Chalk-lines on ceilings make it a snap - (lol...sorry, construction joke). Price paid for amount of light received - I am very happy! Quality - appears good and no issues with anything Ease and time of install - If you are running new outlets that takes significant time. The actual mounting and plugging them in takes no time at all.... I used a snap line/chalk line and marked my light placement by myself - a laser indicator would do the same thing. Follow the line and find your stud/rafter/joists and screw in the brackets. THE MORE PRECISELY THE BRACKETS ARE ALIGNED THE EASIER THE INSTALL WILL GO SO DON'T PLAN ON EYEBALLING THIS INSTALL.... simply line the fixture up with the brackets and insert a corner, then rock the other corner in. The screws included may not be long enough for a garage ceiling install (typically thicker sheetrock per code), but are probably adequate for most installs. I LIKE THEM! ... show more

These lights are absolutely amazing. I am not an electrician but it was very easy to install. They gave all the mounting hardware, and connecting wires and switches. I can't believe the before and after. My fluorescent lights were terrible In the cold garage. These are not affected by the cold at all. Best investment for my garage. Bought these to replace numerous 8’ fluorescent fixtures. The lights include a variety of installation accessories that allow you to wire the units to a junction box or plug them into an outlet. You can connect light fixtures together to get a 16’ or 24’ run, or space them apart via the 2’ wire harnesses provided. Or, you can use the 2’ harness to connect a light fixture at a 90 degree angle to second light fixture. The accessory to wire the light into a junction box is a bit on the short side. So when I needed to position the light a bit further from the junction box, I cut the end off of the 2’ harness and stripped back the insulating cover to expose the connecting wires. The mounting brackets easily support these light weight light fixtures despite seeing reviews that contradicted this. The challenge will be to ensure that the brackets are mounted in a straight line. I used a string taped to the ceiling at both ends as a guide. The light fixtures are definitely brighter than the fluorescent fixtures I replaced which housed 2 - 95 watt bulbs. So I went from 190 watts to 72 watts with these fixtures. I had a dark area in the garage where there was no existing light fixture, so I mounted one of these lights on the high ceiling, ran the supplied outlet cord down the wall to a short extension cord and used a remote control outlet adapter (frequently sold to turn Christmas trees on and off) to turn the fixture on and off rather than using the on/off switch built into the power cord supply. I will be purchasing another box of 10 - 8 ft light fixtures to install them in the basement and garages of my grown sons. These are bright lights, like operating room level of brightness. In fairness, I did install 18 of them in my 32X40 wood and metal working shop. I have been happy with them (mostly). Pros: very bright, inexpensive lights when compared to big box store pricing (less than half). Customer Service-several arrived damaged, and were replaced by the seller. However, I did have to ship them the damaged ones back. Out of 3 (10) packs, I ended up with 20 usable. I just dug through the boxes, picked the least damaged and returned the remainder. Do you due diligence and inspect them within the return window. Cons-sketchy electrical wire connections and switches. No. problems initially, but several of the switches (3 or 4) have malfunctioned and forced me to climb back up on a ladder to replace. Not a big deal, just be aware. ... show more
