Seriously…. Siphon system makes the best coffee. We’ve tried soooo many systems. It’s a little more work but worth it. We got this inexpensive setup to see if we liked it. Great way to try. We’re hooked… but if we’re rushing out the door for work, no can do.

Low price, but works perfect for coffee that brews at high temperatures. For coffee that extracts idealy at lower temperatures I recommend pour over makers. The vacuum process can only work at boiling. Also, a butane heater is much more convenient and efficient than the supplied alcohol burner. I use a water heating kettle to preheat the water thus making the process quicker. Otherwise, you must wait for your heater to get the water up to boiling temp. ... show more

    • Waste of time! Does not work!
Do not waste your time and money on this junk! Wasted an hour of time and good expensive coffee. 1st, water takes 25 minutes to boil then siphon immediately pulls water and drops down before the coffee has had time to immerse. Use a good French press. Cheaper, quicker and less hassle.

This is the best coffee maker I have ever used!!!! And the fact that you don't need electricity to brew a pot of coffee is incredible. Also everyone will be captivated by watching the siphon vacuum do it's thing!!!!

    • A bit hard to figure out but once you get it right, GREAT WAY TO BREW COFFEE
First issue for me or anyone with neuropathy. The Chain is very hard to grasp. Also, the instructions either written an employee of the company or translated from Chinese make no sense. Get an enlargement of the pictures and you will figure it out. Your grind needs to be espresso or Turkish coffee grind. Don’t start out with a ton of coffee. Also, 5 cups of coffee is about a demitasse cup, not an American mug. The spring on the filter has a little hook that goes over the edge of the glass pipe.
