I got this fish finder mount for my boat, but interestingly instead of for a fish finder, I actually wanted to set it up for a rig for a phone magsafe mount and a GoPro. The mount is fairly flexible where it needs to be and is a sturdy option given the weight it's handling. I was even able to upgrade the fixture on top of the mount to include additional GoPro accessories.     • Koroao 5.19" Arm Aluminum Alloy Fish Finder Mount with C Size 1.5" Ball w/ Round Base
I have other Koroao mounts as well and this 5.19" Arm C Size 1.5" Ball mount w/ Round Base plates is just as good in quality as the others. This mount is constructed with thicker aluminum making this mount more robust than some of the other styles I have seen. I do like the cross hatching inside the sockets. It provides much more gripping power on the ball's without having to really crank down on the t bolt. I would have preferred a metal t-handle/knob to tighten the bolt but the plastic t handle is not as much a concern with this mount since I don't have to crank it down as hard to keep it from slipping as I do on some other brands. I also like that the tpu covered balls are mounted to the base plates with bolts and do not rely on a weld or good casting. It also allows being able to remove the ball from the plate if ever needed. The only con with this mount, and others from this same manufacturer is the clamping bolt is just a little too short to be able to remove the end plate balls from the sockets without the handle coming off the bolt causing the whole mount to come apart. Overall this is a solid strong mount. It would be better for something you are not going to remove often but if you keep in mind the knob comes off when you remove the balls from the sockets so you don't drop/loose it you will be fine. ... show more

I picked up the Koroao Aluminum Alloy Fish Finder Mount with C-size ball, and it’s been a seriously solid addition to my setup. Right out of the box, you can tell it’s built for the water, not just to look good in a listing. The aluminum construction feels tough and ready to handle rough conditions without worrying about rust or wear. Installation was pretty straightforward. The base lined up well, and once everything was tightened down, it felt locked in. The 1.5” C-size ball joint is really the star here. It gives you that smooth 360-degree adjustability, so you can tilt and position your fish finder exactly where you need it without fighting the mount. On the water, it holds steady even when things get choppy. No constant readjusting, no annoying slipping. It keeps the screen stable and easy to read whether you’re idling or moving. The longer arm gives you a nice reach too, making it easier to position your electronics comfortably. One thing to keep in mind is compatibility. While it works with most major brands, some setups might require a little tweaking or drilling depending on hole patterns. But once it’s dialed in, it does its job really well. Overall, this mount feels like a dependable “set it and forget it” piece of gear. A sturdy and durable product made with thick metal. However, the component needs to be anchored to a solid surface to support the full weight. When a phone is placed on it, the phone appears very small because everything looks out of proportion. The mount boasts a high-quality finish and smooth edges. The downside is that it’s very thick at the bottom and quite thin at the top, which feels a bit strange. ... show more

I love these ball mounts. I'm installing many of them on my boat to hold all of my different instruments. They're handy not only for fish finders, radars, VHF radios, and many more. This one is a very well designed and well built ball mount. The aluminum alloy shells have serrations in them where the balls grip to allow for better holding power. I like these ball mounts cuz they're infinitely adjustable with the two balls so you can adjust your device once you install it to any angle you like. The base and the instrument side are very universal in the whole patterns. They did supply screws. But as with an email you have to check out the substrate you're going to mount it to and the fish finder or instrument you're going to mount it to to make sure the sheet metal type screws will actually bite correctly and not damage your boat or your device. I often find myself using other stainless screws sometimes through holes with actual nuts and washers for strength. This Mount is very sturdy. To put the balls on you do have to separate the two shells. That said another benefit of having this type of mount is if you're in a high theft area you can easily just unscrew the single middle handle and separate the shells enough to pop the ball out that your instruments mounted to and take your unplug your instrument and take it with you or store it in a safe place. This is a very functional and durable unit. It also represents a great value when you consider the price. These things used to be so much more expensive. And this is a quality unit. ... show more

I thought for sure it was going to be another delicate mount, but WOW was I surprised !! Delicate? NOPE ! This thing is built like a tank. I was expecting what we usually get nowadays, a plastic product that does the job, but I never expected something this well made. This will definitely not move or vibrate, not even with a regular sized iPad, and definitely not with the iPad Mini I’m going to use it for. It’s metal, not plastic, and it’s HUGE compared with the typical mounts we all use. Check out my pictures and compare my regular mount and the size of this mount. This is a very solid unit! It has some heft to it, such that I’m actually surprised and impressed that it’s quite a bit sturdier than I expected it to be. Because it's so sturdy, I'm using it to secure a trolling motor head instead of holding a GPS/Sonar display, but it’d 100% work for that as the arm is steady and locks into place very well. The most impressive detail to me is that this is the first unit of this style I’ve seen with molded knurling on the inside of the ball sockets, and it holds better than others I’ve used in the past.
