Excellent fish finder imo. Paired with a Terrova trolling motor its awesome. Spot lock, heading and cruise control, follow the contour, all are outstanding features. All 3 sonar views are excellent and have their place. Pretty easy to navigate the features and tons of videos online to help. It wasn't cheap but it was worth it. I just wish Lake master had my local Lake. Another reason I got this unit and a zero line micro sd card, the auto chart feature to map my lake. ... show more

    • Last Xplore I would ever own.
I had this Xplore 9 unit in the box about two weeks before installing it. I took it out, marked for the mounts at the helm and bolted it in place. While taking the protective film off the screen I noticed the glass was cracked top to bottom and toward the right side. Bummer. Broken before I ever turned it on. Today I finally called Humminbird support and asked what it would cost to replace the front glass. Holy cow!!! $709 plus I pay shipping both ways. That adds up to well over half the cost of what I paid for the device new. Apparently the glass is not like iPhones but rather extremely fragile. Perhaps I bumped it with a metal object? Don’t remember doing so. But for a device that’s in a boat and used outside, it is too fragile and too expensive to fix. So I’ll have to live with a cracked screen. Guarantee I’ll NEVER buy another Humminbird product. Farming, Raymarine, etc. lots of competition out there. ... show more

    • Good unit but nothing exciting.

I was expecting more out of the unit. I chose Hummingbird for integration with the trolling motor. That feature works great, but the rest is kind of "ehhhh..." I was hoping to be able to have engine information on the chart page, but I can't find it anywhere in the overlays settings. I also can't display music that is playing and control it through NMEA 2000. I had so many more integration features in my 12-year-old Lowrance Elite that I replaced with this Hummingbird unit. Perhaps there are tricks to getting these features to work, but it's not in the manual or any videos I've watched so far. Maybe I'll change my rating over time, but for now, I wish I had gone another direction, perhaps a Solix 12, which is on sale right now for the same price. I've also lost connection between the unit and transducer twice. It shows it's connected, but depth, sonar, etc., is blank until I manually turn it off and back on. Hopefully, this helps anyone curious about the features. ... show more

    • Good luck ever talking to anyone at Johnson Outdoors
During my research on new graphs for my boat I tried to call Humminbird and Minn Kota (Johnson Outdoors) a couple of times and both times was on hold for over 30 minutes and never did end up speaking to anyone. That's when I headed over to Garmin.
