  • Just realized I got a very similar TIDWE vest instead.
Color: Mossy Oak Bottomland Style Name: Standard
The TIDWE vest is very similar to the Alps vest. When I got it, I noticed that the color wasn't quite right but otherwise it looked ok. I tried it on and adjusted the fit and everything seemed fine. Quality is good with a slightly fuzzy RealTree material. So I tucked it away for later. Today I was looking at reviews of the Alps Grand Slam vest and I noticed a few other features that were different. But it was a good deal so why complain So I looked at my vest. Very clearly on the inside of the back it says TIDWE in large letters. And I just hadn't connected the dots. There are no side water bottle pockets or cell phone pocket. There are sufficient outside pockets and additional mesh inside pockets to make up for it. Frame and leaning legs look good. I guess we will see how it goes. Not what I ordered but it seems to have what I need. We will see. ... show more

  • Really like the design
Color: Realtree Timber Style Name: XL
I really like the design of this turkey vest. The sit anywhere vest is really nice. I read some reviews about the legs breaking. I’m 280 lbs and the legs held me up. Can’t wait to try it out next turkey season.

  • Ripped after 3 hunts but Seller Sherper's made it right.
Color: Mossy Oak Obsession Style Name: Standard
UPDATE on my review below: Sherper's, the seller reached out to me about the ALPs Z turkey vest. Jeremy, to be specific handled my issues by sending me out a new vest within 2 business days of reading my review. I cannot say enough about the customer service he provided. He went above and beyond and took care of me, the customer first and then took the issue up with the manufacturer afterwards. This is how it's supposed to be. Great job Sherper's! Excellent job Jeremy. I purchased this vest on March 30th, 2022 from Amazon as a replacement for my old vest of 15 years which is faded pretty bad. No rips or tears, just faded. After reading all the hype, I decided on the ALPZ Grand Slam. I hunted in the vest 3 times and on my most recent hunt on April 30th, as I went to place my box call back into its pocket, I noticed that the the vest had ripped apart at the seam (see pics). Amazon's website says the NLT return date was April 27th, a mere 3 days before my disaster. I'm not sure who will see this however, I have hopes the ALPS Outdoors will and do the right thing and send me a replacement vest ASAP as the TN turkey season ends in two weeks on May 15th. ... show more

  • Comfortable
Color: Mossy Oak Obsession Style Name: Standard
This vest came packaged extremely well. I love all the pockets and the pot call holders. Lots of pocket space. It sits well but, if you plan on doing extra long hunts bring an extra butt pad. The pocket for the strikers is really Nice as well. There’s a lot of nice vests on the market right now but in my honest opinion you can’t go wrong with this one. I also read where people had problems with the chair legs breaking off, I personally can’t vouch for that. I’ve enjoyed mine! ... show more

  • Great vest for both, long sits and running and gunning
Color: Mossy Oak Bottomland Style Name: Standard
I received my Alps Grand Slam today. I think the leg adjusts will take some getting used to but, overall, I think this vest. It is comfortable and by adjusting the legs in and out, you can sit in different positions. The large duck feet swivel as well. There is plenty of storage in this sucker too. I really like the silent box call feature as well. No more unnecessary noise while trudging through the woods. There are plenty of pockets and loops for strikers, ammo, pot calls, mouth calls, water resistant cell phone pouch (sadly, my case is too big so it won't quite fit so my license and transport tag and ink pen will go inside it), room for call conditioners and chalks, thermacell, bottled water, folding saw, crow call and headlamp. That's most of my gear anyhow. There's not a whole lot of adjustment straps however, I don't think mine needed too many. The 3" seat cushion felt comfortable for the short time I sat in it. Perhaps a few hours in the woods will tell a different story. The magnets seem to hold ok but, for long or fast running and gunning, I'd use the buckle fasteners anyhow. And speaking of long or fast running and gunning, if you locate a distant long beard and don't want to carry the extra weight of the seat/frame, it detaches pretty quick and easy ... show more

  • Not for the weak
Color: Realtree Timber Style Name: Standard
Great vest for those that set-up and hunt one/two spots for extended periods. If your a "run and gun" style hunter this may not be for you. An old sayin of "ounces equal pounds, pounds equal pain". With a empty weight of almost 7 pounds it is on the heavy side compared to other styles but this is by far the most comfortable one I have used in the past 15 years. The frame is removable which will shed some pounds but you give up that "lounge" factor. ... show more

  • Best turkey vest in the market; but, still needs improvements
Color: Mossy Oak Bottomland Style Name: XL
I’ve used this vest or earlier versions for about 4 years. First, you cannot consistently and successfully turkey hunt without a backrest. The original vest that had this feature was called Leppard’s Lounge, it was an L frame and worked great. Of course, it’s no longer produced. Anyway, this vest has legs that pop out like a folding chair. It works better than any vest currently in the market place. It’s major flaws are: 1) seat foam is not dense enough, cheap with little support; 2) shoulder straps are thin, and have very little load bearing ability; 3) Alps logo is in neon orange all over it ( I spray paint it black) 4) the magnets are too weak to hold the seat up (I replace that with Orvis fly fishing net holders) 5) has lots of pockets, most of which are too small to hold most calls or gear, so you dump everything in the back, which adds weight to the weak shoulder straps; 6) pretty heavy, be nice to use a lighter material for the frame. Pros: 1) back rest works; 2) feet on the rest are large and flat, so it does not dig into the ground; 3) Camo is good except for the logo issue; 4) zippers are good quality, and some of the interior pockets are deep and useful. There is a better vest to be made one day, but this one is as good as I know about in the marketplace right now. Good luck and safe hunting. Darrin Davidson, Memphis TN ... show more
