Speakers arrived quickly. Installed easily (well, as easy as could be expected). I’m very happy with the sound for the price. I put them in my winter beater (New York) because the original speakers had bit the dust. No other upgrades. Factory stereo. They sound clear and rich, delivering more bass response than expected. I did NOT install baffles. If you are looking for cheap replacements, these are great. Maybe even good enough as the foundation for a mid level system. ... show more

Great speakers for what they are. Always been a Alpine fan. I do wish these came with mounts, even just universal ones would of been fine. Had to cut and modify the old speaker mounts to fit these ones. Every car is different though so don't let that deter you. Sound quality is great, especially paired with the proper amp/head unit. Super easy to install, even easier if you've done this before haha Mine are running off an alpine 1000watt 2 channel for the fronts and the rears, also 6.5in alpines. I have Three 10in kicker 4ohm DVC CVRs(the discontinued ones) in a custom, sealed box running on a 1200watt mono at 2.6ohms. let's just say these door speakers are loud enough to make your neighbors angry lol definitely recommend. ... show more

I recently purchased a new Kenwood deck for our Suburban. I debated at Cartoys on whether to buy speakers at the same time. It immediately became apparent - the stock speakers could not keep up with the new deck. Cartoys made me a great deal on the Kenwood. I couldn't buy it for what they sold and installed it for. However, the speakers were another matter. They wanted almost twice the price for these same speakers. After surfing Youtube, i found a tutorial that showed step by step instructions on how to install speakers into the Suburban doors. Might not be for everyone but I have a solid background in electronics, wiring, sodering, etc - so it was a snap to install and set these up. I bought the first pair for the front doors. The sound was drastically improved but there was muffled noise coming from the 2nd pair in the passenger doors - so I ordered a second set. Sound quality is now great in the truck (for anyone else attempting this - make sure you disconnect the sub in the back of the truck as it is a stock POS). I may opt for an AMP and new Sub - but for now the sound is drastically improved over the stock radio/speakers provided by Chevy. We recently took a road trip from CO to OR - the cost was so worth it. The trip was really enjoyable. The Kenwood interfaces nicely with iPods and iPhones so we had a tone of music to listen too during our trip ... show more

Bought these speakers based on specs and the fact they have a silk dome tweeter. Don't know why, but I have always preferred the sound of silk dome highs. Had two different sets of speakers in my Travel Trailer. Had no bass and harsh highs. These extend lower, have a nice warm presence in the highs, and sound nicely balanced. Not the best sounding speakers I've heard, but at this price point they are a steal. Very happy with my purchase. ... show more
