This coat is super warm! I got it a little larger for layering but I don't think I needed to at all. I had to remove the faux fur around the hood because it made it difficult to see when checking my blind spots or backing up while driving so I did need to wear a scarf because cold air was able to find it's way down the neck area of the coat. The upper pockets were perfect for putting keys or my hands in, the zipper worked very well in both directions, the coat is very comfortable to wear and walk around in. 5'5", 165#, I got a Large and it fits perfectly! (Large is my usual size.) It has enough room to wear whatever i want underneath but it's not baggy, it's just right. The waist is adjustable from the inside so you can cinch it in for the silhouette you prefer. It really is warm!! It gets cold and snowy where I live, and its kept me cozy warm so far. The hood can be zipped up all the way and it keeps your face very warm too, and also it's long enough to keep your legs warm as well. It's heavy and substantial, which is awesome!! If your only concern is comfort, warmth, and a vegan alternative to down... this might be the perfect option for you. However, I want all those things and also want to feel cute. Instead, I felt more like a big navy marshmallow. It was puffy in the wrong places. I'm super picky about the appearance of coats because I'm already 5'10 and 160 pounds and don't need any help looking bigger than I already am. I got a size small and it was plenty roomy to layer under, so I'd say this coat runs slightly large. I may have even been able to fit an xsmall (not a normal size for me), but it might have been too tight in the chest. Overall, super cute coat that seems to be of decent quality and certainly worth a try. The drawstring waist and elastic cuffs were really nice features. Color was beautiful. But I'm returning it and continuing the search for a functional AND flattering coat. ... show more

Before this coat, I spent years being cold with less than ideal vegan down alternatives. This year, I decided I had enough and wanted to actually be warm in the winter. I did some extensive research and found this coat—a surprisingly affordable option. I am very pleased with my purchase. It is like wearing a soft, warm marshmallow/sleeping bag hybrid. I am very glad to be warm! The coat is fairly large which can be good or bad depending on your perspective. I’m 5’10”, 145 lbs and went with a small. I suspect I would have been swimming in a medium, even with thick sweaters. The waist was gigantic and unfortunately hit a little higher than my true waist. The coat itself looks a bit bulky, but is really no different than any other actually warm winter coat. My biggest pet peeve is that the zipper isn’t a double zipper—if I could unzip part of the bottom part I think this would be a 5+ star review. ... show more

I love how warm this coat is, and it seems to be well made of good materials. But there are some design flaws that are annoying and could have easily been changed. --The pockets are too high and open at the top. If you like to keep your hands in your pockets, no good. --There is no vent at the bottom and only one zipper which zips from the very bottom. To sit wearing the coat you have to pull the coat up as it gets tight at the bottom. --The little loop at the neck for hanging on a hook is teeny-tiny, and only secured at one point instead of two. Mine ripped off the first week. --The hood is not detachable. If you have long hair and don't put the hood up it looks bulky and sloppy. ... show more

The zipper constantly gets stuck, the pockets have started to rip off, and the velcro has come almost entirely unattached from the arms. Height: 5'6''; Weight 137-140. Small Chest/shoulders. Wider at the butt and hips. I usually get a medium in winter jackets, because i want to make sure i can sit and move comfortably. Too my surprise the small fit the best! I even tried on my biggest winter sweater to make sure there was enough mobility for my arms and thighs; and there was! I live in Minnesota and I need a REALLY warm coat. As far as I can tell the quality of this coat looks great, durable and the hood is deep (like really deep). The cinches on the inside are great to keep the cool air out. I love this feature. I also think the style is sleek and lays nicely. Time will tell if it feels as warm as I will need it, but honestly one wool sweater or down liner will make the difference. ... show more
