Features

  • Alpine's Class D amplifier circuit with Dynamic Peak Power (D.P.P.)
  • Compact size, measuring just 7 W x 3.5 H x 1.25 D
  • Dynamic Peak Power (DPP) technology doubles the power during dynamic musical passages
  • Thanks to the efficient power needs of the DPP technology, the KTA-450 does not require a new power supply wire at the battery.
  • DPP prevents the KTA-450 from clipping by supplying up to double the power for sudden, dynamic sounds.

  • Amazing little Amp!
I ordered this with the Alpine ILX-W670 and what a difference it made! I tried the W670 by itself first without the amp and then connected the amp and it made a BIG difference in sound quality and detail. I installed it in a 2018 Nissan Titan with Infinity speakers. I already had the Maestro RR module, so I just had to add one connector to it (supplied with the Maestro) and re-flash it to retain the steering wheel controls. Watch some videos on how to install the amp and how to configure the Crossover/4-Channel/RCA settings and it's pretty straightforward. I had to cut the speaker wire connection on the Maestro harness (Idatalink Maestro Acc-HU-ALP1) for the W670 and connect the speaker wires from the amp to the wires going to the speakers. Well worth the money. Gives SERIOUS punch and clarity to my system. ... show more

  • Great Entry Level
I paired this amplifier with an ILXW650 Headunit in my 04 IS300 bypassing the factory amplifier and powering JBL speakers and tweeters and OMG this setup beats most entry level premium audio packages in even newer cars. The small footprint and close proximity to the headunit significantly simplifies the install and really enriches the audio experience. Sure, you’re not hitting ridiculous db levels or winning any competitions, but for a daily driver, this punches above its weight class. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Amazing sound, great bang for your buck!
I used to do mobile audio and alarm installation so i have extensive knowledge on the subject. Alpine makes EXCELLENT products, always have, and still do. This amp was added in my 2014 honda pilot which i wanted to keep the stock head unit. It has alpine type R separates in all 4 doors and this little amp now powers them and it sounds AMAZING. I had the speakers connected to the stock deck since i bought the car new in 2014 and i was really missing out. Highly recommended- its paired it with the audio control LC7i PRO. Sounds absolutely astonishing for the amount spent on everything. If you're looking to keep the install simple and nothing crazy, this is a great option. Also, i have it sitting under the carpet below the glove box. ... show more

  • Outsmarted by this dumb rectangle's toes
Maybe I'm stupid or maybe someone at Alpine engineering gave the product design the go-ahead without watching a human interact with it. Either way if you've bought this and it sounds great but has zero bass or you're looking to buy it, keep an eye out for the switches on this thing. There are six switches and they are numbered 1 to 6 and there's a lot of reference in the instructions to flipping them "up" or "down". Now, you might be tempted to turn this bad boy such that the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 are upright and read left-to-right and think that flipping a switch upwards puts it in the "up" position. Wrong. That's down, you idiot. What were you thinking? Flip it back over so all the numbers are upside down and flip a switch upwards. There ya go. "Up". Seems like maybe not that hard to put an "A" and "B" on the side of the switches and have the instructions reference those but this thinking is why I'm supposedly "not a good fit" at Alpine Inc. Things might look good when you get it from the manufacturer but all switches (as i received them) were "up". So the defaults are: -You're telling it you're feeding it speaker-level inputs, not RCAs -4-channel mode -Front, 120hz high-pass filter -Rear, 120hz high-pass filter tbh sounded pretty crisp with precisely every setting incorrect. 5 stars. ... show more

  • Not working
The geek squad installed it with the Alpine speakers I purchased with the Alpine head unit from best buy. They had run out of the Alpine 445 and 450 power amp I have to wait till June 22 for the third attempt to have this unit too work. Geek squad twice fixed the problem and it still stops working.

  • Great little amp!
For as small as it is it has great sound and I like how it fits in my dash. Easy to install.

  • Worth the buy
IMO, this is definitely worth it. The difference is night and day. If you've never ran amped up speakers, you are missing out. Virtually no crackle in my speakers and so much more power. Adds so much more to your set up. Definitely plan placement because it takes up space and I barely had room behind my head unit. ... show more
