Always been an Alpine fan. I have owned Kenwood, Pioneer and boss, none of them campare to Alpine. The sound is awesome and their reliability is undisputed. I just installed this on a 2005 Camry and purchased the $26 reverse camera as well as the steering wheel harness and I couldn’t be happier. I hope it last a long time as have other models I owned before. The only negative I would mention is the fact the the CarPlay feature is not wireless ... show more

A good quality set up, the only detriment is the emergency brake/foot brake safety so you can't watch videos while driving. A ridiculous, over thought feature that serves very little purpose and is a major pain to connect. Had I know this prior, I would have bought another brand.

    • SiriusXM was a second thought when they designed the unit.
Biggest disappointment is that the head unit only has six preset buttons for SiriusXM. Who only listens to six channels?! Should have at least double that. Then when I want to browse through other channels in a category, it is a little bit cumbersome, especially that one must choose between the channel number and the program/song title. I wish it would show both at the same time. The other minor complaint is it doesn't show the album cover or picture. I was hoping a firmware update would fix that, but I am unable to update it no matter what I try. For the other features, it's okay, but I would expect better from a trusted brand like Alpine. ... show more

Sounds excellent… 5 stars… runs too hot 1 star… receiver on volume only at 5 gets super hot. Alpine engineers need to go back to the drawing board on this one…..(ilx-407)
