Description

The DEWALT DCF883M2 20v MAX Lithium Ion 3/8-inch Impact Wrench Kit features a compact (5. 70-inch front to back), lightweight (3. 4 lbs) design that fits into all kinds of tight areas. It has three (3) LED lights with 20 second delay after trigger release, that helps to provide visibility without shadows. Also features a hog ring anvil to easily change sockets. Drive size = 3/8-inch square drive. The textured anti-slip comfort grip provides maximum comfort and control for the user. Powered by a XR Li-Ion battery with fuel gauge which provides 33% more capacity over standard packs. Applications include: Driving and removing fasteners in wood, metal or concrete/ Fastening and removing nuts and bolts/and Primarily for use with impact sockets. DEWALT impact wrench includes: Fast Charger, (2) DCB204 20V MAX XR Premium Li-Ion Batteries (4. 0 Ah) and Kitbox. (Maximum initial battery voltage - measured without a workload - is 20V. This is a fantastic tool. I think it's more convenient than the 1/2" square or 1/4" hex for doing mechanic work. For body fasteners, small engine fasteners, etc, it really powers them on and off. I was pretty surprised by how much impact torque this thing actually has. It's light and the 20v lithium batteries are a real improvement over the old 18v ni-cd stuff. 40 years as a mechanic, 25 in the auto/light truck, currently work in the heavy truck industry. Learn what tools are correct for the job. No, it's not going to take off lug nuts from a Kenworth, not what it's designed for. This tool busts off lock nuts on mudflaps, and draws those torque clamps down just perfect.. If you're working exhaust, old suspension, or trying to remove an engine, you'll need real air powered tools for the big stuff, this tool will knock out all the little bolts with ease tho.. Anyone who bought this tool, expecting it to remove transmission bolts and over torqued lug nuts, is not a mechanic. ... show more

For the price, I doubt there is anything that it better! There are not many 3/8" square drive anvil cordless in the 20V battery category. Dewalt's unit is very compact is a big plus! The tool is very handy for working on cars, as the majority of sockets I use are 3/8". The hog ring is a bit stiff when new, but I assume it's going to loosen over time to make changing sockets our faster. This kit comes with the battery charger and TWO batteries! Not many other brands offer two batteries, especially for the price range! I'm looking to get the 1/2" square drive anvil compact version soon - the Dewalt option is a lot more compact than most of the other 1/2" square drive anvil cordless in the 20V battery range! I use this for my work as a car mechanic and after 2 months of use, it still holds up fine. Or even better, I'm still on my first battery! I've never had to charge it yet or swap to the 2nd battery as of yet. A good and reliable impact for daily work and would recommend for mechanics

Powerful and light but batteries have a weak spot for cracking so be gentle with the bigger packs on this and the bull ring loosened up with in 5 months but I was using it all day everyday but definitly like my new 14.4 3/8 snap on better and used it's only a little more expensive but this impact probably wasnt made for hard use on automotive ... show more

Been buying tools since 1966. This unit is the best 3/8 drive electric impact I have ever used. As a locomotive mechanic I have to inspect wick boxes on the traction motors. No more air hoses! Also read a review where a person said it did not remove lugs nuts that were torqued to 120 lbs. the max torque rating is advertised at 130 lbs. my first thought was this person is a very poor mechanic, a moron or both. A real mechanic knows that first of all you never tighten lugs nuts with an impact gun and that the Break away torque is always higher than the actual torque. Great tool and will recommend it to everyone. If you need more torque, buy a 1/2 inch drive. ... show more

I work on autos as a side job and I needed something to help with my arthritis turning bolts so I decided to give this Dewalt 3/8 20v impact a chance. Wow!!! I just did a timing belt and water pump the day after getting this in the mail and was so impressed, I had the majority of the bolts off in less than 15 minutes without much effort. I was amazed as it made quick work of motor mount bolts as it usually takes forever with hand tools. The Dewalt made my job easier as I spent more time talking with my friend about the Dewalt and all the time I saved than working. This is a tool that I think any serious wrencher must have as it cuts wrenching time in half and has the power to remove every nut/bolt I ran into(haven't tried it on lug nuts yet). The only issue I have is that it doesn't fit into some tight spaces but that's ok. Overall I recommend this tool to anybody that wants to cut wrenching time in half and the fact it comes with two 4 AH batteries and charger is a major bonus ... show more
