The DEWALT DCF883M2 20v MAX Lithium Ion 3/8-inch Impact Wrench Kit features a compact (5. 70-inch front to back), lightweight (3. 4 lbs) design that fits into all kinds of tight areas. It has three (3) LED lights with 20 second delay after trigger release, that helps to provide visibility without shadows. Also features a hog ring anvil to easily change sockets. Drive size = 3/8-inch square drive. The textured anti-slip comfort grip provides maximum comfort and control for the user. Powered by a XR Li-Ion battery with fuel gauge which provides 33% more capacity over standard packs. Applications include: Driving and removing fasteners in wood, metal or concrete/ Fastening and removing nuts and bolts/and Primarily for use with impact sockets. DEWALT impact wrench includes: Fast Charger, (2) DCB204 20V MAX XR Premium Li-Ion Batteries (4. 0 Ah) and Kitbox. (Maximum initial battery voltage - measured without a workload - is 20V. I work in collision repair industry. Most of my mechanical tools are air powered. I've accumulated 10s of thousands of dollars in tools over my 37 seven years in the industry. I have to say, this is the best tool I have bought in years. I wanted an impact that was airless, light wait, cordless, and had enough power to break large bolts. This one has it! Even removes wheel lugs on most passenger vehicles, and light trucks! I use it on seatbelt and seat bolts, inside vehicles, without having to drag airline inside vehicle. It has done EVERYTHING I expected, and more. The 20 volt MAX lithium batteries last literally months between charges. I have to lock it up, because my co-workers all want to use it. Ha ha. I purchased this particular DeWALT 20-volt impact gun since I knew that I probably wouldn't be using it to remove fasteners torqued to much over 65 lbs ft (or ft lbs...). My lug nuts were tightened to 65 lbs ft using a torque wrench. When it came time for another periodic wheel/tire rotation, this DeWALT made the tedious job of breaking lug nuts loose with a socket and breaker bar much simpler and faster. It made quick work of removing 4 lug nuts (and one wheel lock removed and installed by hand tools) on each of the four wheels on my vehicle. Each nut came completely off the wheel stud in 2 to 3 seconds. For this particular lug nut torque setting, the battery felt like it could have done many more sets of wheels. I haven't yet found out how useful the LED lights are but when the time comes for under vehicle maintenance they may come in handy. I see that Amazon's price at the time of this writing is $22 cheaper than what I paid in September 2018. An even better deal! I'm pretty happy with my purchase. NOTE: This DeWALT model does come with two Lithium-Ion batteries, a charger, and hard plastic case. 40 years as a mechanic, 25 in the auto/light truck, currently work in the heavy truck industry. Learn what tools are correct for the job. No, it's not going to take off lug nuts from a Kenworth, not what it's designed for. This tool busts off lock nuts on mudflaps, and draws those torque clamps down just perfect.. If you're working exhaust, old suspension, or trying to remove an engine, you'll need real air powered tools for the big stuff, this tool will knock out all the little bolts with ease tho.. Anyone who bought this tool, expecting it to remove transmission bolts and over torqued lug nuts, is not a mechanic. ... show more

This is a great impact! Especially for the price, im a mechanic at midas an i use it everyday and love it. DO NOT use this repeatedly and or consistently removing lugs on tires, it is a 3/8's drive, its possible after so long of doing that you can burn it up. Get the 1/2 inch drive if thats what you want it strickly for. They offer a set this one and the 1/2 inch together that is a great deal! My co workers Snap On 3/8's is a little more powerful and compact but like $800 more it's ridiculous. If you do want a great quality affordable 3/8's with a little more power get the Milwaukee one, still a really good price on that one as well. But this one will do everything you need ... show more

I'm a professional mechanic that works on heavy equipment (bulldozers). Bough this tool with some Christmas money I received in 2015 so I've been using it for about 7 months. It has great power for the weight/size of the tool and has remarkable battery life. It's the first electric impact I have owned so I have no other comparison to a similar electric tool to offer. I would say it is easier to maneuver than my pneumatic Snap-On 3/8 drive impact and probably about the same weight with the battery installed. I regularly use for fasteners up to 3/8" diameter and 10mm diameter with no problem. My helper unintentionally broke several 5/16" bolts by hammering too long with it. I completely recommend it and would definitely purchase it again. ... show more

I purchased this impact driver for use in an industrial setting. The battery last long enough to do most jobs, and the driver itself is compact enough to work around and under pumps and other machinery. There is enough power to remove bolts that have some rust, or may have been over tightened previously. The driver has a bit of weight to it, but it is nothing more than I would expect. I would recommend this impact driver to anyone who needs it for work purposes. It is likely overpowered for home projects. ... show more

I should of bought one years ago. Light weight and the battery doesn't leak like the old 18V batteries when not in use; so I guess all my 18V gear is going up for sale. I hurt my arm changing my suspension with hand tools, and the air compressor didn't work, so it was time to go cordless. So yes lug nuts at 94ft, putting them back on was cool with the variable speed trigger topping off with a torque wench. I changed the timing belt on my Zetec 2L with hand tools, and that got me to pull the trigger for this. So next project is upgrading my small disc and drum brakes to the SVT brakes; in which should go super fast this time. So I watch Street Outlaws and saw Chief using the same model on his engine. I'm very happy with it and it should last over 20 years for me; I still have DeWalts from 1998 that I still use and there going strong. If your on the fence like I was and thinking about saving money on a 18V, it's not worth it, just swallow the price and go 20V. And I bought the 1/2 impact today as well. ... show more

    • Cuts the time I'm doing auto repairs in half

I work on autos as a side job and I needed something to help with my arthritis turning bolts so I decided to give this Dewalt 3/8 20v impact a chance. Wow!!! I just did a timing belt and water pump the day after getting this in the mail and was so impressed, I had the majority of the bolts off in less than 15 minutes without much effort. I was amazed as it made quick work of motor mount bolts as it usually takes forever with hand tools. The Dewalt made my job easier as I spent more time talking with my friend about the Dewalt and all the time I saved than working. This is a tool that I think any serious wrencher must have as it cuts wrenching time in half and has the power to remove every nut/bolt I ran into(haven't tried it on lug nuts yet). The only issue I have is that it doesn't fit into some tight spaces but that's ok. Overall I recommend this tool to anybody that wants to cut wrenching time in half and the fact it comes with two 4 AH batteries and charger is a major bonus ... show more
