Description

The PSS-23WRA is a sound system upgrade for 2018-up 4-door Jeep Wrangler JL models without the optional factory-installed Alpine premium sound system. It boosts the overall performance of the factory sound system to deliver a bass increase with refined musical characteristics, even when the vehicle top is off. The 300-watt system consists of the powerful powered subwoofer, ktp-445u Channel Compact power Pack amplifier, spr-10tw 2” component tweeters, and a remote bass knob. The powerful is a shallow format that measures just 13.5” L x 9” W x 3” D. Since the powerful and ktp-445u are both compact designs, they can be installed under the front passenger seat. The powerful and ktp-445u are pre-assembled onto a bracket for bolt-on installation with simple wire routing. Installation accessories such as tweeter adapters, a Wiring Harness, and a harness for connection to the vehicle are included. The tweeters add high frequency response for clarity and definition, and they use the factory locations on the dash so custom installation is not needed. The ktp-445u boosts the overall system volume up to 50Wx4. When driving with the Wrangler top off, It can be difficult to achieve good bass reproduction due to the noise in the exposed Cabin. The PSS-23WRA addresses this by positioning the subwoofer and amplifier under the front passenger seat using the included wrangler-specific brackets. This configuration loads and disperses the lower frequency sound into the passenger foot well for maximized bass extension throughout the vehicle even when the top is off. In addition, utilizing this location does not take away from usable storage space in the vehicle. The PSS-23WRA works with an Alpine or aftermarket head unit, or with the factory Jeep base radio. I installed this on my 2020 JLUR. I have the 7-inch Uconnect system with standard audio/speakers. This system improves the sound dramatically. I love bumpin music an this system does the job. Also, the tweeters make listening to podcasts or talk radio WAY better! The most difficult part of installation is removing the passenger seat bolts. I busted a couple extension bits, even Dewalt Impact buts. The system is a breeze to install though - all plug and play. It is very expensive, but the ability to plug directly into the factory head unit and having the sub mount under the passenger seat was worth it. I didn’t want a sub taking up valuable cargo space. The bracket was a little bent but I was able to bend it back easily. I highly recommend this! The system also includes the zip ties you need for the tweeters’ crossovers. ... show more

    • Does provide a lot of Bass has a slight rattle
We'll start off with the install... Seems easy enough, Amazon also has a video where you can follow step by step install, the paper instructions are trash. Quadratec has a much better video and shows how to actually install the Sub to work the first time with it's step by step video. Overall an easy install, except for one thing, once the wiring harness is connected to the stereo and the cords run to the speaker and the amp there is a set of red connectors that would appear to connect together, they actually fit and it seems like they should, don't connect those, there is actually a set of RCA cables included that have that same red connector on it that you connect together and then plug into the sub. I took the stereo out and the seat off 3 different times prior to watching the Quadratec video which explained this. It also goes over setting up the amp first prior to install because both the controls to the AMP and the SUB are not able to be reached after install, so make sure you do all of your settings prior to installing the sub. This is rather silly to have them in a spot where you're unable to adjust any of the settings after install. I also found that I had the Fade set on the stereo more towards the rear sound bar, that lowers the Bass and you won't get as much bass if you do this, I set it back to mid and it thumps. I didn't use the provided alpine tweeters so I can't comment on that, I used Infinity REF-3032CFX 3.5in speakers for the front and they sounded ok with the stock system, better then the trash provided speakers, but once i installed the Sub properly it provided much more power to the Infinity 3.5in dash speakers that they sound amazing now. I'll also be installing the Infinity 6.5 PR6512ISAM with SSV Works Speaker adaptors soon, can't wait to hear how they sound! In summary don't try to figure it out with the paper instructions, don't use Amazons install video, use Quadratec's video for step by step install instructions for simple and first time successful install.     • Nice Upgrade
Was a big improvement since I didn’t spend the money from the start. Factory system is beyond garbage, this was a much needed upgrade. Amp itself not quite sure if it has enough juice but the subwoofer will blow you away. My suggestion is to replace all factory speakers and get this system. Install takes about 3 hours, watch quadratec’s YouTube video it helped unbelievably. Overall all said and done it’s worth the purchase and I NEVER write a review but this one deserves it. Remember plug and play no wire cutting, oh…. And patience! ... show more

There was a price drop so I bought it and when it was shipped the box was a factory box but it was repacked and the mounting bracket was bent it seemed that all the parts were there but the amp looked like it was a display model sticker was peeling off and it look like it sat on display for awhile . I would not have bought it if I would have known I myself have not had good luck with display models so I won't buy them sent it back and for a 150.00 more reordered a new factory sealed one . ... show more

    • For this price, absolutely not worth it.
The harnesses are well made, everything else is garbage. The bracket that goes under the seat did not fit right AT ALL. I had to bend and adjust all 4 corners of the bracket to get it to line up where it is supposed to. Lots of damage to the finish from placing the seat over it many times as I made adjustments. There was a real concern that the seat bolts might crossthread from the bracket creating a "winking" effect where it failed to line up properly. As others have said in their reviews, the tweeters crackle really bad. We`re talking using the recommended settings in the user manual and with the bass and treble turned down on my stock head unit, tweeters are still crackling like mad. What is the point of including new tweeters if they cant even support the output from the amp? Matching amp output to speaker input is not rocket science, a name brand like Alpine has no excuse for a mismatched setup. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, you will have to cut / modify your rubber floor mat to reinstall them with this sound system installed. A bracket that must be bent into shape to fit, mismatched audio components, I have to cut my floor mats.. This is NOT a "Plug and Play" system as advertised, and is absolutely not worth the price they are asking. ... show more
