The PSS-22WRA is a weather resistant, direct fit sound system for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited models with automatic transmission and without the factory-equipped Alpine amplified sound system (the factory-equipped Alpine amplified system is identified by an Alpine logo on the subwoofer in the back rear-right). The 1200-watt, 9-speaker system consists of an under-seat 10” enclosed subwoofer, two 6.5” 2-way convertible component/coaxial speaker sets, a 4-channel compact amplifier, a mono compact amplifier and a remote bass knob, plus vehicle-specific harnesses and mounting brackets Whether your 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited has factory component or coaxial speakers, the PSS-22WRA will fit in your vehicle. Thanks to the included adapters, the speakers can be configured as component or coaxial layouts. Alpine’s exclusive Dynamic Peak Power (DPP) amplifier technology and the 10” under-seat subwoofer enclosure deliver incredible sound performance (600W RMS/1200W DPP). The PSS-22WRA loads and disperses lower frequency sound from the passenger’s foot well area, for maximized bass extension throughout the Jeep that sounds great with the top on or off. Caught with the top off in inclement weather? Not to worry. The PSS-22WRA can withstand rain and dust. The subwoofer uses rust resistant hardware and can handle water from off- roading adventures or a quick rinse down. The PSS-22WRA is compatible with any Alpine Restyle Jeep Wrangler dash system, the Jeep factory base radio, or other aftermarket radio.     • System sounds great, not compatiable with manual transmission
Make sure you do your research, as this kit is not compatible with a manual transmission. I knew this before I purchased the product and was able to fabricate a bracket to mount the amplifiers. Basically the clutch pedal is in the way of the recommended mounting location. You can mount the amplifiers under the steering column, essentially running parallel to the axis of the steering column. Beyond this challenge the kit was easily installed. I did deviate from the instructions and turned up the gain on the tweeters and midrange speakers to balance with the subwoofer. The sound is quality is bright and clean from lowest to full volume. Lots of bass you can feel even with the top down and at highway speeds

    • NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MANUALS
I bought this product thinking it would work considering it said it would on the website. I had read through the page and didn’t see a single thing regarding not working with manuals. I opened the product and the first thing I saw on the instruction manual was “Not compatible with manuals” I packed everything back up and returned it. 2 weeks of shipping later I get an email from amazon saying “Product has been heavily used” I then received no refund and got scammed out of my 1100$.     • Take it from a pro. Very well conceived!
In a younger life I was a custom car stereo installer for some big brands. So, I’ve been around some top gear. If you are wanting to kick up the volume and quality of your audio in your JK. I can’t recommend enough the Alpine Restyle system for the Jeep JK. It replaces the inferior paper cone stock speakers and tweeters with high quality amplified components front and rear with a 10” sub that mounts in the unusable space under the passenger seat, and small digital amps that mount up under the dash. This kit is worth every penny, and is literally zero footprint and plug and play. Even the wiring harness feels OEM, or better. Everything is included. And everything is made specifically for the Jeep JK. Note, this doesn’t work with manual transmissions without modifications due to the amplifier location being where the clutch would be. While possible, I wouldn’t recommend it. I did try this system with both the OEM UConnect head unit and a new Daisita android unit. I can say this. If you use the factory head unit, you will be disappointed. It uses speaker level inputs, and the audio quality is pretty poor. Lots of background noise. Remember, the best speakers in the world can’t improve a poor source. And Chrysler’s UConnect is super poor. I highly recommend installing the Daisita head unit for JKs. See my review there. The audio quality difference with this Alpine Restyle system from stock is night and day. All in all, these two systems pair beautifully with each other, feel factory, and sound amazing. TIP: do not mount the amplifiers till you have everything hooked up and you tune the gains and crossover settings. You will not be able to access them after they are mounted. And mounting the amps is a PITA. TIP: you will want an air impact to remove the passenger seat. And you’ll need an impact driver to install the amps. No exceptions. TIP: do not use the factory gain and crossover recommendations. Tune by ear with the kind of music you listen too. TIP: set the external subwoofer gain knob to the midway point prior to making the aforementioned adjustments. ... show more
