Did a lot of research and shopping around for a tall tiered fountain to place in an open corner space of the backyard as the "centerpiece" of our backyard makeover and this fountain fit the bill perfectly. The size was just right for our needs, the price was good and delivery was fast and on time. Set up was fast and easy, and though it would've been easier with 2 people I was able to unbox and move it into place by myself. After a quick inspection (found no cosmetic damage at all), getting it into position, hooked up the pump to the hose and ensured all the LED light connections were tight and secure, filled with water, (the directions suggest using distilled water to lessen scaling, but I just used tap water from the hose and added water conditioner), plugged it in and voilà, everything worked perfectly including all the LED lights. The good: the fountain looks fabulous, the flow rate is excellent, the waterfall sound is soothing without being overpowering, the 5 LED lights are situated in the bottom of the tiered bowls and lights up the water as it flows from one tier to the next. Some things to consider for your needs: There is the tiniest amount of splashing but very little, which may be a concern if using the fountain indoors, the water pump is adjustable but there is only a slight difference between the min and max settings. I have it set right in the middle which gives a good flow to all the tiers, with minimum splashing; turning the flow rate to the min causes the small top right waterfall to "trickle" out. The water pump and LED lights each have their own plug, so I had to get a dual outdoor smart plug so I could set a timer for each individually, now the fountain comes on in the morning and the LED lights come on at dusk, both turn off in the late night. Evaporation doesn't seem too severe, filled it up upon set-up (takes just under 15 gallons of water), had it on max flow in 85-degree SOCAL weather for 3 days and lost less than an inch of water in the base reservoir. I now have a drip line going into the fountain from my sprinkler system that adds a small amount of water (couple of cups) 2 days a week, which seems to be doing the job of keeping the water at the right level. All in all very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anybody

Such a lovely fountain with a wonderful sound of water falling. I had an issue with the pump and customer service went out of their way to make it right. I would add though, that the pump pressure was too high causing the area around the fountain and plants to constantly be wet, and we weren't able to turn it down using the dial due to a defective pump. I called Alpine and they promptly send me a new pump having slightly less pressure of 800 GPM, instead of the 1200 GPM that originally came with the fountain. The new pump works well, but I had to buy a sponge (cut from a larger fountain filter sold at a big box store) that I inserted deeply into the top right opening to reduce the amount of water coming through that opening. It solved the problem of water splashing out and needing to constantly refill. Now we are enjoying our fountain once again. One slight flaw is that the decorative color is coming off on the side and the bottom of the fountain, but it's okay because I have used plants to cover this defect. I can probably spray paint it at some point if need be. Overall, I highly recommend this fountain and the company that sells it (Alpine) as they stand behind their products, which is rare in this day and age.

UPDATE 11/16/2020 We have thoroughly enjoyed this water fountain since our purchase last spring. We have received many compliments on its' beauty and soothing cascading water sound. Our lights have worked perfectly and an added benefit at night. We are putting it to bed for the winter now and will miss it but await next spring to enjoy it once again. We can highly recommend this fountain for those seeking a unique, beautiful, top quality, outdoor water display. This was a replacement for an old concrete water fountain we had for years. After researching fountains, we decided to get this five tier model which we are very happy with as it blends in with our trees, rocks, landscape, etc. in our backyard. We enjoy the water sounds it makes and the lights at night are beautiful. We are very well pleased with this fountain.

Worse company I've ever "dealt" with. Lights worked for 24 hours only. The base cracked after less than a year. I could never find a number for customer service and sent them no less than 10 requests via email through their site and Amazon to contact me and noone has ever contacted me. Very disappointing to spend this much money and to have a product that doesn't work.

We saw this outdoor fountain at a local nursery and really liked it. We've been looking for one that would look great on our back patio/lanai to have that calming water sound. However, it was $700. We considered it, but ultimately decided to wait to see if something else came along. I had taken a photo of the tag on the fountain and decided to look on Amazon. Shockingly, I found it for a little over $200. That's less than a third of the price! I ordered it and it was quickly delivered in a giant, heavy box. The box arrived quite a bit beat up, but thankfully the fountain inside was well-packed and was okay. It was fairly easy to assemble and set up. It's got that calming water falling sound that I love. Since we're not outdoors all the time to enjoy it, we first put it on a timer to run for a few hours just to circulate the water every day. However, upon reading about fountains, it's apparently best for the motor to keep them running all the time. So that's what we've been doing. We also bought a chemical to put into the water that prevents mold. And I've been amazed at how much water the fountain holds and how often we have to refill it. On hot days, the water evaporates much quicker. I just pour the water somewhere into the front pools when the water starts to trickle. I absolutely love the fountain. It looks like stone, is sturdy, doesn't splash, and produces a great sound. It was a great purchase and a great deal comparably.

Looks nice. Shipping was fast for the fountain. The pump and transformer shown in the documentation were missing. We called the number, left a message — and sent an email. I’ll update this post and let everyone know if we get a response.

Fantastic fountain... although one of the four lights was damaged (LED was chipped). I sent an email to Alpine's customer service... which was apparently lost but recovered a couple months later and eventually responded to. Alpine sent (2) replacement lights which was fortunate since a second light burned out on a different mount. Read observation #3 below for results of autopsy on the light design/failure. I admit I was nervous spending this kind of money on a fountain, but it is sizable and the pump is impressive for all the water it has to push (5ive foot head of pressure). Owned for over three months now and not disappointed. Some things we've learned: 1) Algae forms quickly < two months, much quicker if you don't use distilled water. Highly recommend algae control even if you do use distilled water, especially if the fountain is directly exposed to the sun. Cleaning is tedious. 2) Evaporation rates are high, but this is no fault of the manufacturer, obviously. You will be refilling the fountain at least weekly and if you aren't keeping a couple gallons of distilled water per week on hand, you might want to add a trickle water system to refill. If you have an existing sprinkler and timer system with a way to tap in a drip system would be easiest way to manage refilling. 3) As mentioned, one of the lights came chipped (the fountain is well packaged/insulated, and would not have been caused by shipping damage). A) So light A was likely due to damage in the factory and no fault of the design. B) With that said, a second set of lights began to stop working (at first two of the six LEDS were off, it eventually became 4 LEDs off, so it wasn't a power cord issue). The typical Alpine lights are mounted using a taurus (donut) shaped ring of 6 LEDs exposed upward and simply sits on a plastic dowel in each of the fountain 'pools.' It's a great design and effect and LEDs are usually robust and can last years... so I suspect there is a sealing issue between the LEDs and the upper casing that hold them in place on the upper face (the lower face of the case is well sealed and shows no way for water to intrude via seepage from where the power cable enters). Had the power wires been shorted due to leakage, none of the LEDs would work. I used a bandsaw to cut across the diameter face and the two power (12 volt) wires looked well sealed throughout. If water is seeping in, it appears it is from the LED upper face where the LEDs are exposed above the donut face. When a second cut was taken across the epoxy that fills in around the LEDs, it appeared voids were visible where water could seep in and eventually contact the LED wire probes, but I could not confirm it as the entire cavity of the mounting 'donut' is filled in with some epoxy after the circuit is soldered. Bottom line, I suspect there is a slow leak since all the lights worked for weeks before LEDs started to no longer light up. It might be avoidable if a clear sealant is applied across the upper face where plastic housing meets the LEDs, but you'll want to do this before operating the fountain, obviously. SUMMARY So long as Alpine is willing to send replacement lights, I don't have a complaint as the lights are easy to swap out. The water sound is perfect and the design of water flow to minimize spray is well designed using clever very porous sponge like material to briefly dam water in pools. Keep in mind that algae forming on these sponges will reduce flow and eventually cause the small water falls to spray more over time, which is why my #1 recommendation is to use an algae control with the water.

This fountain looks great once assembled, the tiered rock design and lighting are exactly what I wanted. Visually it’s a great centerpiece. I paired this fountain with another Alpine fountain, the 80” long “babbling brook” log-style. Together, they make a stunning statement in my patio sanctuary.
