So far so good. works great. I love that I can now keep things at proper temp while camping without the Ice! Ice takes up so much space and melts so fast. I bought the 16L and it is much bigger then I visualized. The measurements are perfect and correct. Look how much you can fit in the 16L compartment look at pics. You can easily pit a weeks worth of the right foods in here. It will easily go below freezing so keeping things very cold is easy. It has a slight hum while cooling then when it hits temp which only takes a couple minutes it stays silent for long periods. So far I love this thing. If anything changes Ill update my review. It comes with wall plug and car lighter style plug also simple instructions. the lid closes great and locks when closed and unlocks when you touch the lid handle to open. very easy to use, It arrived undamaged and brand new wrapped and secure in box.

It just got delivered 30 minutes ago 4/7/23. Everything looks good no dents cracks or other visual damage. I researched this fridge on YouTube. They say you should let the unit stand level at least 12 hours before use to allow compressor fluids to settle. This is because in shipping it may have been stored on its side so I’m letting it sit until tomorrow. The instructions doesn’t say to do this, but it makes sense to me. So, I will come back and update this review when I put it to use. I’ve heard good things about Alpicool so I am a little disappointed that the logo is just a peel and stick on tape which has a bubble in it so it’s not adhered very well. However the label doesn’t make it run. Just hoping I haven’t Ben given a cheap knock off. If it works I’ll be happy. UPDATE: it’s the next day so I believe it’s sat long enough. It started right up with my jackery for power. In 10 minutes it went from 64 degrees down to 54 and dropping as I type. It’s on Max at the moment drawing 44w. Switched to eco mode now drawing 29w. It fluctuates just a bit has compressor kicks on and off. Success. I’m happy with it. ANOTHER UPDATE: I’ve had this for one work week. It’s working great. I probably would have done better with the 9liter fridge because it takes up some space in my king cab, but I do plan to use it for camping so it’s ok. Got a fridge thermometer and found that it was actually 30 degrees inside so I set the unit to 41degrees. My concern now is for when the Texas heat ramps up. It’s refreshing to have cold V8, water and fruit cups. It’s working perfectly, as for power supply, that’s a work in progress. My 500 jackery doesn’t last all day. UPDATE OCT 7Th I bought another Alpicool. I put the bigger one in the house. Too big for my new Versa. This one fits perfectly in my back seat. It cools down quickly. It’s a 10L size. It has plenty of space for drinks and my lunch. Working just fine. Thank you Alpicool.

Freezer worked flawlessly on a 10 day, 3000 mile roadtrip with our dog that eats food that must be kept frozen. This freezer ran continuously both in the car, in hotels and aboard our sailboat. It had minimal frost buildup over the 10 days and never required defrosting. I am very impressed with mine.

I dont go camping but I spend a lot of time in my car with my toddler and having this when going shopping has changed the game. We were on an outing and it kept icecream frozen for over 8hours of driving around in the heat, stopping at multiple stores etc. 10/10 would recommend. I used a power bank to power it up and it kept it cold as my car only has 1 12v adapter.

I would recommend looking at other products from another manufacturer. Do not buy the Alpicool portable fridge. We used the refrigerator on a trip to Colorado and back and everything worked great for a little over a week long trip. We used it everyday either in the car or plugged into a wall outlet when we were inside. It was great and helped out tremendously keeping food frozen for the entire trip. Then, we went to use it again for another trip about six weeks later and it never got cold enough to work as a freezer. Gradually over that trip the temperature inside the refrigerator kept getting warmer and warmer until it wasn't cooling at all. It would only get as cold as the ambient temperature in the room despite checking the settings repeatedly, resetting it, or completely unplugging it to restart it. It was as if the refrigerant had slowly started leaking out until there was none left to cool. The motor and controls all seemed to be working fine, except it would not get cold. The last time I tried it registered 72 degrees inside the cooler even after being plugged in for hours inside an air-conditioned room. The window to return the item of course is now passed and we are stuck with a very heavy cooler that requires the use of old-fashioned ice or ice blocks to keep food cold. Look elsewhere.

We ordered an Alpicool model Y16T. We let it sit in the proper position overnight and then plugged it in. It would not start. It beeped and there was a red light next to the Power button suggesting, per the manual, the compressor needed to re-set. We left it plugged in for several hours, but the red light did not change to green. Pushing the power button did nothing. We assumed this particular unit was defective. We returned it and ordered a second Y16T. We plugged the second one in and had same problem. A red light next to the Power button and the unit isn't nonresponsive. Same problem when plugged into a vehicle's outlet. Just before returning it in frustration, tried the power button one more time and it came on! Set it to 0 degrees F. Did a good job of maintaining that temp (although it naturally cycles up and down a few degrees like our smaller Alpicool - not an issue). Unplugged it and then really had to play around to get it to turn back on - have to press the power button in different places, 5-10 times before it will turn on (or off). Oddly, the more we turned it on and off, the easier it got to do so. When we were having trouble with the second unit, we immediately contacted Alpicool (can only do so by email) and provided a description of the problem. We did not receive a response for 8 days and they only asked where it was purchased, the order number, and for a description of the problem. The latter had already been provided. Either an this was an automated response (unlikely) OR someone not paying attention. Frustrating.

For the price of this unit, this fridge does the trick. I bought it to use in my SUV when we're on the road for extended periods of time, as coolers with ice were getting expensive and were a hassle. I just needed an affordable and small fridge for the next 6 months until I upgrade to a larger vehicle and larger fridge. For the time being, this works. If I were going to use this for longer, I would probably return for a more efficient unit. The reviews are correct in saying that this fridge cools down quickly. It went down from room temperature (70 F) to 39F in about a half hour. However, it pulls between 35 (eco mode)-45 (normal mode) watts while it is running, which is far less efficient than other units on the market. My 268WH battery can power this for 8-16 hours depending on external temperature. (For example, it recently got down to the 30's where we've been traveling, and it would keep insulated enough that it wouldn't trigger my battery for so long that the battery turns off. I'd wake up in the morning with the unit sitting around 38-40F.) My two biggest issues with the unit are efficiency and the timing for when the fridge kicks on to cool. If I have the fridge set to 38, it will usually not turn on to cool things back down until the unit is showing an internal temperature of 42-44F. This is a bit worrisome if you are carrying meats or dairy or medication, so I usually set it to 36 so that it kicks back on at around 40F. I'd rate this higher if the unit would kick on within 2-3 degrees of the set temperature, for the safety of the food products stored inside. The 16QT is big enough to store a few days worth of cold food for one person and 1-2 cans of soda/beer. I've noticed that the more food is in the fridge, the cooler it stays.
