Updating the review. I purchase another one of these to go into another car. The newer model, bought May 30, 2024, is noticeably quieter than the one bought last year in 2023. It also takes a lot less force to open the lid, but it still closes securely. The good. I like the size, and it cools quickly. It works well, especially on a car seat. The size is small... but for cold drinks in a car with a woefully inadequate A/C, it helps a lot for trips. The bluetooth app is decent, and allows for temperature control, and some basic configuration items. The bad: it is small, and seems not to have much insulation. For day trips, I mitigated this by buying a 700 watt/hour battery bank and a cord to plug from the bank into the fridge. The ugly: The model I bought in 2023, which has been in storage for a while ran without issue until today. However, I plugged it in, and it just sits on a F1 code. It is drawing amps from a 120 volt power supply. F1 means an undervoltage, so I tried it on another power supply, and the battery bank providing regulated 12 volt voltage. I also reset it. Regardless, it just stays at "F1", and does not cool. The other model still works. No clue about the sudden fail, but this is concerning. At least the newer one is working, and I decided to replace the old one with a model recommended by Hobotech. I'm not changing my rating, because the new one has been working without issue for a long time, quietly keeping stuff cool outside. However, the old one failing suddenly isn't a good thing.

Only a week in, but this Alpicool Mini refrigerator has been a pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure what I'd end up with. It keeps our food cold at a safe temperature and fits quite a bit for such a small refrigerator. It draws little power from my power station. I am very pleased with my purchase. Will update after we've been on the road a bit longer. For now, happily keeping my almond milk, salads, yogurt, dog's food and more nice and cold. I do worry about the place the plug for 12v/wall outlet goes in. It feels a little flimsy when I swap out the plug, so I hope it won't break. Great purchase overall!

Pros - Compact size. Lightweight. Refrigeration is good. Cools quickly. Maintains temperature while running. Low power usage. Quiet. Cons - Not well insulated. Heats up quickly when off or unplugged. Lid seal a little too thin to have a good seal when closed. Bought this to replace a foam container. It works. You can feel the exterior cold when running, which means it doesn't have the best insulation. It does cool quickly when powered up and seems to use little power to maintain temperature. It's very quiet when running. Noticed the foam lid seal seemed a bit too thin and wasn't sealing against the frame. A thicker foam seal would fix it.

My GF gets severe migraines and uses these gel head covers (like a winter skull cap) to help ease the pain. We typically do 2-3 3-4 day mini vacations in the summer. No way to freeze the gel caps at all. The hotel rooms only have refrigerators. Gave this a try since it was reasonably priced. Can be used as a fridge or freezer. Dual powered so can be plugged into the house or vehicle power port/cigarette lighter. Gets down to Zero degrees pretty quickly and well insulated so it doesnt run all the time. It's also very quiet. Can't beat it for the price!

Well I'm very happy with refrigerator freezer it works just like it says I was pretty skeptical I haven't plugged in all the time like a regular fridge and it hasn't let me down yet not in the wood. I didn't think it would freeze but it does!

I've been using it for 4 months now in my car. It works great, makes little noise and keeps things cool even when the car is out in the sun for hours. I bought the smallest unit I could find because I only need a few things to be cool. It's not a huge problem, but the lid overlaps to the *inside* of the compartment. So any kind of bottle or a milk carton that is close to the edge will prevent it from closing. It's an odd design choice. It's not a huge problem but a little annoying. It also works as a freezer if you want. The fridge has a bluetooth app to control it but honestly I don't see the need or use for it. Geeks can adjust setting in the app. The display and buttons are lockable which is very useful to not accidentally changing settings. The fridge draws about 40 Watt when running. It runs for a minute or two then shuts off again. This is the normal operation for any compressor fridge. How often it turns on and how long these cycles are depends very much on the ambient temperature. If you keep it in a hot car cabin, it will need a lot more energy than in the shade and cooler environment. The fridge has a built in batter protection so if you run it off your car battery it will not be depleted entirely. It has a 2.1 Amp USB outlet which is very useful. Unfortunately it's next to the display. If you open the lid while a USB cable is plugged in you will, chances are you are breaking the connector or the outlet. Design flaw!

After a month the unit did not cool any longer. Several attempts were made to ratify the issue and with no resolution. No offer to fix or replace unit. We had another that is working fine. This is for an ambulance for medications that need refrigerated.

This small size fridge/freezer has been excellent for me so far. I keep it in the back of my mini-van and use it often to store water, salads, ice cream bars etc. I like the fact that when the compressor shuts off, it doesn't actually use any power. I use the 12 DC volt connection in my vehicle or connect it to my Jackery power station. It is a low power consumption appliance. Works great!
