I Luke this fence tester a lit but it required a separate 9 bolt battery to operate. Not included! It was easy to use by hanging it on the electrobraid line, then touching the probe to a tee post. Can also push probe into the ground to ground the device. Large numbers and display easy to read.

Just got this fence tester in and tried it out. Bright sunny day and this display can be read from over arm's length without having to have it shaded. This thing is great.

    • Easy to Use.
Was new to kilovolt readings. Had to do extra research to learn what it was telling me. At first I got a reading of .5, was looking for 500 kv. Wasn't sure if this was telling me that. Then I learned that the 500 kv should read 5.0. There was no explanation on what the readings should look like. Guess they expected you to know this. Otherwise this thing is great. I prefer getting an actual digital reading rather then those meters that a light lights up to tell you it is in that range. ... show more

This unit drains batteries if battery Supposed to shut of automatically but does not. May be inexpensive but batteries are not

Checking fence in the sunshine is a problem with the flashing light system. This is easy to read digital numbers.
