We bought this bed thinking for the price, it might not be sturdy. It is sturdy and nice looking. A king mattress fits well on it, and there is not any slippage. We thought that we might be able to feel the slats underneath, but even with our modestly priced mattress, we do not feel the slats. The only slight negative, and it is not a huge problem, is that the center support leg is somewhat easy to trip on. The bed looks great. It’s sturdy and just the right height. The only problem is a post in the middle of the side frame that I keep accidentally kicking. It’s gonna hurt in the middle of the night when I’m not wearing shoes.

Very sturdy and well-made, which surprised me a bit because it was fairly inexpensive. I've put several of these platform beds together and this was by far the easiest. (Still took me about 3h by myself). I loved the slat system with the rubber plugs. It's a little tricky at first but once you notch one and plug it the other goes in fairly easily.
