I use this specifically for braiding and cornrows on my natural hair and it has honestly become a staple in my hair routine. The texture is really smooth and easy to work with, not too thick that it’s hard to distribute through the hair and not too thin that it doesn’t grip properly, it hits that perfect middle ground that makes braiding so much easier and cleaner. The frizz control is really impressive, my cornrows stay really neat and polished looking without any of those little flyaways popping up along the braid which used to drive me crazy. What I really love is that it dries without any white flaking or residue which is such a common problem with strong hold gels and completely ruins the appearance of braids, this one keeps everything looking clean and fresh. The appearance of my braids after using this is just really neat and defined, they look really professional even when I do them myself at home. The natural formula feels really gentle on my scalp too, no irritation or dryness after use which tells me the ingredients are thoughtfully put together. The hold genuinely lasts all day without needing to reapply. Absolutely love this gel and would not switch to anything else.

This product is TOP NOTCH. First off opening it you can immediately smell the fragrance from it. My daughter kept telling me she loved the smell. The texture is like wax mixed with grease. It's waxy enough to hold in place & greasy enough to still be able to slide & glide right through my fingers making it easier, smoother & faster to braid. I love the clear light orange appearance. It's so moisturizing for the hair & keeps it in place at the same time. The product is so light too. I used it to slay my girls edges too. I am learning how to braid my son's hair and I was always using the Cantu braid and twist gel that comes in a clear plastic tub with an orange plastic lid. However, my son's hair would always get frizzy the next day no matter how much gel I used, or how good I did their braids that day. I finally decided to try this gel based off reviews, and it really made a difference. My son's hair go 2-3 days without frizz and that is a big difference for me. Their styles last a little longer before I have to wash and braid again. I am sure once my technique improves, with this gel, their styles will last much longer. This gel is very strong and sticky. The smell does not bother me.
