I bought this for a car camping trip. I had a friend’s bf install it. I had to find a YouTube video to figure it out, instructions weren’t super helpful. As others have stated, the included hardware isn’t all you’ll need. I had a friend help me set it up and break it down twice, then had no problem doing it myself after a few tries. It looks cool and is well made. The material seems durable and the Velcro isn’t f’ing around! It’s pretty lightweight and I loved that it comes with a bag attached for storage. It perfectly fit over the passenger door and takes up zero space to store. I added a few outdoor area rugs (which helped me set it up and break it down) and it was perfect! The pre drilled holes make it easy to know where to fit the poles. This helped make my first solo trip a success! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I'm impressed. Has this up and running in no time. Watch the video for correct use of the EXTRA poles as in the directions. Super shade! No awning does good in a storm so always put it away unless you're using it or attending it. But it's nicely designed and fits materials. I just wish it had 4 ropes instead of 2. ... show more

I read a lot reviews before purchasing this particular awning. I didn’t go with a popular name brand awning because of the price point. The material on this awning is durable and thick. Check out the mil thickness on other brands on Amazon and you will see this is one of the thicker materials. The poles are ok. They are easy to deploy and twist lock at the desired height. I don’t care for the pegs on the ends because if you’re on harder ground they won’t go in. I’m thinking of making a square foot out of scrap wood with a hole for the pole pegs. The company could have created a small flat rectangular foot for the pole bases vs the peg. Deploying and storing the awning isn’t bad. With two people it’s a breeze but one person would not be too challenging. If your roll ends up a little uneven it doesn’t take much to push your ends in to make the roll even. There are 2 extra poles in the base of the system. The only thing I can figure out is if you take the system off your vehicle you can set up the awning with 4 poles. There isn’t anything in the instructions explaining those extra poles. The case seems very durable. It’s thick and has a heavy duty zipper. The awning fits in there with ease and you don’t have to squeeze it together to close the system. I haven’t noticed any leaks from rain for the few months I’ve had the system. I have also taken the vehicle on a road trip and didn’t notice alot of wind noise from the system. I have it on a full size SUV with a Yakima round bar system. It installed easily with the components provided. Would I buy it again? Sure but for a full size truck I would go up a size. Overall, I’m pleased with the system. Had a same size awning from one of the big name companies that damaged itself in the wind. My fault for not tying it down, but it folded up and bent two of the poles badly enough I couldn't straighten them. Bought this awning for $180 less then the name brand awning to steal parts off of to repair the other awning and was surprised to find this is a better built and nicer all-around awning. Heavy fabric, INCLUDED mounting kit (name brand was $70 for mounts) anodized poles and brackets instead of raw aluminum. Name brand awning is now on the shelf for parts. ... show more

I'm pretty sure all of the 'name brand' awnings are all made by the same few companies. I can't understand the $500 price tag of some other brands for something that looks identical. Purchased this product on Nov 10,2023. During install of the hardware I notice slippage with the bolt heads in the channel. Caused indentions which may cause weak points. No matter where I moved the bolts they still turned. Then, the bolts get snagged in the pinch making it difficult to remove them. All joints are made of plastic and honestly do not expect them to last a gust of wind so…..buyer beware of this product. ... show more

Love that it deploys FAST! I have a little step stool that puts me up close to it and it's up in no time. I also have the front panel and one side panel and those were easy to deploy. Love It! Would buy again! Now the bad on the install....The hardware that came with the awning was not that bad, but the nylon 'lock' nuts froze when I tried to bolt them on which ended up completely stripping the inside aluminum body of the mount making it useless. I also had to cut the bolt off which was ridiculous because of my roof rack, it should have been in place in 30 minutes. I would recommend NOT using the nyloc nuts, go to your local hardware store and get good quality, regular hardware with lock washers and lock tite. ... show more

Some video reviews on YouTube point out that the hardware included is garbage. The 8 nylock nuts that came with it are in fact poor quality. Two of the four nuts used to attach the mounting bracket to the roof rack seized. One of which had to be removed with a hacksaw. Three of the four locknuts used to mount, the bracket to the awning assembly seized as well. This caused damage to the awning assembly shown in the photo. Highly recommend you go out and purchase your own hardware before damaging your tools or the awning itself or your car. ... show more
