You’ll notice the difference when cooking with this product. My wife loves it. I recommend reading how to use stainless steel for cooking to avoid burning your food. It’s well-built and definitely an upgrade to our kitchenware.

Professional cookware Made in the USA!

Our old slide-in electric range died, and our 20-old cookware was not compatible with the new replacement induction cooktop range. That old reliable stainless-steel cookware served us well, but we had to purchase a replacement set...so goodbye to those old kitchen friends which now have been donated. We choose this particular All-Clad 3-Ply 7 Piece starter set and added the multi function stock pot with pasta strainer and steamer basket as an extra accessory. Yes it is a bit of an expense, but based on recommendation from a couple of friends who are really good home-chef cooks (as we often share meals , entertain and cook with each other in our respective kitchens) and we discuss these kinds of things)..., we hit the Purchase Now icon on Amazon. There was also a compelling customer video review, showing her own 20-year old All-Clad cookware, albeit a bit scuffed up on the exterior, but she was still quite enthusiastic as it had served her and her large family over the years. Right out of the box the quality was obvious. We love this cookware and I'm sure it will last a lifetime. As we are now reaching retirement, we can't image ever having to purchase something else...and indeed along with family heirloom cast-iron pans gifted to us over the years, and 30 year-old Le Creuset Cookware, I'm hopeful someone in our family will enjoy this cookware long into the future. And finally, it must be said that Made in the USA really means something. Thanks to all of you fine folks at All-Clad Metalcrafters in Canonsburg, PA.

Pre heating is key and

People are going to tell you that the pan sticks and that it is difficult to clean well that people didn’t read the instructions. Pre heating is key controlling the temperature is key letting the food naturally unstick from the pan is also key, and the website tells you everything you need to know. Best pan ever, just need to follow the process on order to cook right.

Great quality, heavy pans, prone to residues after cooking

It goes without saying, but make sure that your pans are well-oiled before frying! After switching from mostly non-stick pans, I was initially surprised by the amount of oil I needed to ensure that nothing stuck. Heat is distributed very well by the pans, which will make food stick even quicker when the pan is not sufficiently oiled. The pans are quite heavy, which might take some adjustment for the amateur home cook. The handles are also only meant to be grabbed from the bottom (palm facing up), which is yet another adjustment that you will have to make. It's a bit annoying and heavy at first, but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. Often there are residues that stick to the pan even after washing, and in those cases you might want to buy the All-Clad cleaner and polish if you want a flawless shine. It's also a bit annoying that the residues don't wash off, because I don't want to buy additional cleaner for an already expensive product.

Great investment

I went for the AllClad line because of the great reviews. Everyone was absolutely right about how beautiful this set is and how well it cooks. Be aware though that since it doesn't have that plastic "No Stick" covering you need to be mindful of not using too high of a flame or food will stick making cleanup more of a chore. If that does happen all you need to do (yes, I didn't follow my own recommendation) is squeeze a little Dawn (or whatever soap you use) and some water, let it heat up for about 5 minutes or so, take it to the sink and then gently rub off the stuck on bits. I have also used "Bar Keepers Friend" and that works really well on stainless steel. Not inexpensive but really worth it especially if you want to pass it down.
