I swapped out the memory from 16gb to 32gb and added an SSD card which was fairly easy to do. Runs all of my games great on the best video settings with only one of them raising the fan level/noise. I like the Dell brand! I was so excited to get this Gaming Pc! That was working good! But basic problems.... My main problem was the RTX 2080 Super temperature..... under full load that was 80-82 Celsius! That’s too much! The great air flow,What they say about this Pc, does not cool down the video card! Only one front fan in the front of the Pc. The CPU cooler works great, the temperature was around 50-55C.... if You are looking for a quiet Pc, then this is not your Pc! The CPU fan is little noise, but works great! I have no problem at all with the I7 9700k and Rtx2080 Super videocard performance ! This Pc is a beast! Just the temperature is high. ... show more

This PC runs perfectly. Quiet. POWERFUL. It can run numerous activities, we paired it up with a 240 HZ monitor from Alienware and the only thing that this PC cannot do is give you better PING.

This review is for the Alienware Aurora R9 gaming desktop. At first glance, you'll notice a great case that's a nominal size for a PC of this caliber. The lighting, which can be altered, adds the 'custom' touch many gaming PC builders aim for. Up front you'll find the typical couple USB-3.1 ports but also a USB-C port, mic and headphone jacks. The back is loaded with more than most people will need, which is 4 USB 3.1 plus 5 USB-2.0 ports amongst others. The included mouse and keyboard, unfortunately, are cheapies so you'll likely want something specific for gaming. Because of the Solid State Drive, this machine boots into Windows 10 extremely fast. This computer is far too powerful for basic tasks, but yes, normal use like web browsing, internet videos & music run without issue. Large photo & high resolution movie editing are also possible out of the box, though there's room for more RAM that's easily upgradable. Once booted into Windows, fortunately, there's no bloatware other than the Dell support software. The Alienware Command Center is included & that's where you'll control a lot of its features. You can overclock the CPU which runs extremely fast at default settings, but can be increased and set permanent. Also, here you'll get the CPU & graphics card temperatures so you'll want to monitor those numbers if you overclock the CPU. As for gaming, those that know what 3DMark benchmark is used for, the Time Spy tests I ran resulted in 9211 at stock settings. I also used the HDMI out to a 4k HDR screen and the video card handled it well. Make sure you register your PC and/or check the Dell support website for bios patches, as the latest fixes should both improve the performance and remedy any fan noise, though I wasn't put off by the sound. For a user that's not comfortable building their own custom PC but is in need of gaming power & in-house tools for oveclocking and thermal monitoring, the Alienware Aurora R9 will hit that target demographic. Even photo or movie editors will appreciate the power and stock RAM configuration plus upgradability, though you may look for a more business appealing exterior than offered here. WARNING!!! DO NOT BUY. This is the last pre-build I will EVER purchase, especially from Dell and/or Amazon. This computer is so horribly made, it can’t even run games on ultra.. the FPS is trash. I can run games on my little MacBook flawlessly, running them on this desktop is a struggle to say the least. I am convinced this is actually a scam and the 2080 GTX Super supposedly inside of it is not actually there. If it was I would have no issues. THIS IS A SCAM DO NOT BUY. ... show more

I got mine back in 2019 and was considered high end back then but nowadays it doesn't seem to get the job done for me. The case has overheating issues, the power supply has fried twice for me, and the graphics card and processor are kinda out of date now, it runs most games over 60 fps for sure, but 144 fps with decent graphics can sometimes be hard to get nowadays. ... show more
