I would say this is more of a decorative piece than a functional piece. Other customers have warned to not sit on it because it can break. It is sturdy and solid but only holds 200 lbs. Again, I am using it for decoration. It is a really beautiful piece. Very pleased!

I LOVE this bench! I was looking for something very particular. It had to look good in my guest bedroom at the foot of the bed and it had to match my dining table so that I can use it for extra seating. It is perfect for both. I am very impressed with the quality (and it is NOT made in China - not USA but not China). The seat is beautiful and the design is attractive. The size is excellent for a narrow passageway where extra seating is needed. It is very sturdy and the price was amazing. The color of the frame is meh - dull and uninteresting. I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to restain it without getting it onto the seat. The assembly was difficult due to the design. I had to use my smaller hands to screw it together because the screws need to be turned with an Allen wrench used horizontally inside of a slot, and my husband’s average sized hands were simply too large. This is a really great bench. Beautiful and well made. It adds a nice touch to my bedroom, giving me a sturdy place to sit and put on shoes, pants ect while also adding a little class to the room. I was so tired of the same benches I’d always had (fabric that don’t hold up well) so I opted for this type. More of an entryway bench. But I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it ! It was well packaged and easy to assemble. My only complaint is that it’s a Prop 65 (fumes that may or may not cause cancer) item which is not in the description! I’ve had other products like this and every time I debate whether or not to keep them. Still on the fence debating whether or not it’s worth keeping. But it is beautiful and well made. The price is great but like I said not crazy about it having the Prop 65 status. ... show more

The description says the maximum weight is 200 lb. I did not pay attention to that, as my husband is 200 lb. The first time he sat on it, it broke instantly. But it's nice, cute, and good quality overall. maybe you just have to use it as decoration. LoL
