I've tried a lot of shampoos and conditioners over the years, and this combo really impressed me. It cleans my hair without stripping it dry, and conditions without leaving that heavy, coated feeling. It just hits that sweet spot. My hair feels genuinely clean, soft, and balanced after every use. this is probably the best natural shampoo i’ve used. other shampoos that i’ve used with no sulfates or parabens would leave my hair heavy, oily, and visibly greasy (i have naturally straight hair, so it is very noticeable). i’ve found it works best for my hair when i shampoo twice and really make sure to get all of it out. the mint smell is really nice and leaves my hair feeling soft. my only complaint is that after i wash it out, it makes my hair feel “squeaky” clean. but as soon as my hair is dry, it goes away

I was drawn to the Alaffia products because of their ingredients and the mission they are tied to. We have tried several. This shampoo definitely feels thick, lathers well, and leaves our hair feeling literally squeaky clean. I also love being able to pump it, and the lavender smell is great (but coconut is my fave). My only reason for giving it four stars is simply because you have to really ensure you rinse very well. Because it is so thick, I’ve noticed it takes a little extra effort. Overall, my whole fam is still very pleased.

Doesn't make scalp feel clean, leaves filmy residue on wet hair, hair is impossibly tangly when wet, losing a lot of hair trying to brush it out. Smells great. Pump bottle is great. Used about 1/3 of bottle hoping my hair would adjust to the product, but I still have terrible residue on my scalp and hair from the product after more than 2 months of using the product. I normally don't even need to use conditioner because my hair is soft, but with this product its is necessary to even run my fingers through my hair. Hate that I'll need to throw it out or just discontinue use of it because its so wasteful and quite a lot left but I can't manage my hair like this any longer.

The shampoo when I was able to use it was okay at best, it doesn’t lather like most chemical based shampoos so it takes a lot of the product to get your hair “lathered” so it actually feels like your cleaning your scalp. Sometimes I ended up using a primer shampoo to actually clean my hair and then followed up with this because I did actually feel a difference with my hair after using the shampoo. Its really hard to articulate my experience using it. The conditioner on the other hand is amazing! So again maybe different hair types may accept this shampoo better. But for me I have thick and curly hair so it just took like 8 or 12 pumps of the product to get my hair to a point it could be safely untangled. So huge L from me. That aside again smells nice, no reactions, hair and scalp liked it. Just not efficient.

I love love love the brand and what they stand for! I can get behind a great natural shampoo that employs people, helps people, I won't go on a rant about that any further but I encourage you to check it out for yourselves! At first it was hard to adjust to natural shampoo. It definitely doesn't leave your hair silly soft while your washing it but it's kinda cool that your hair feels squeaky clean. Literally. It took me 2 weeks to head to the Mothers Market and purchase the conditioner. Again, it's not like a regular shampoo so your hair won't be silly but it will be squeaky clean. I have oily straight short hair so maybe that is how it works on me. I use a frizz creme for when I dry my hair and it becomes a lil softer. The brand mentions that every batch is different so I will come back to review the next bottle I purchase. Also, I share the shampoo with my kids. They are 4 and 6. They can handle it and we are careful not to get it on their faces. The lavender scent is a plus because we do shower and bathtime before bed so I hope it kinda helps lure them to relax.
