I just started using it, but all indications are that this shampoo is a quality product. It seems to clean my hair thoroughly but gently and really is scent free. I appreciate the ingredients that won't harm the plants that are watered by my outdoor shower. Update after two and a half months of use: I love this shampoo. I've tried a lot of shampoos and conditioners over the years, and this combo really impressed me. It cleans my hair without stripping it dry, and conditions without leaving that heavy, coated feeling. It just hits that sweet spot. My hair feels genuinely clean, soft, and balanced after every use. What really makes it stand out, though, is the ingredient list-nothing harsh, nothing toxic. Just solid, clean formulas that actually work. It's rare to find hair care that gets it this right. As long as the brand sticks to what they're doing and doesn't mess with the formula, I'll keep coming back for more.

I was drawn to the Alaffia products because of their ingredients and the mission they are tied to. We have tried several. This shampoo definitely feels thick, lathers well, and leaves our hair feeling literally squeaky clean. I also love being able to pump it, and the lavender smell is great (but coconut is my fave). My only reason for giving it four stars is simply because you have to really ensure you rinse very well. Because it is so thick, I’ve noticed it takes a little extra effort. Overall, my whole fam is still very pleased.

First of all, this arrived partially spilled. I have shoulder length hair and need to use 4-5 pumps to lather it into my hair. After rinsing my hair feels stripped and STICKY. I let my hair air dry but using this shampoo makes it take forever to dry and there is this awful sticky, tacky sensation. I have BAD buildup on my scalp when I scratch and it won't wash out. It feels like hardened fat. It feels disgusting! Do NOT use if you have sensory issues. Such a big bottle i wish I could get my money back. I'd get the same sensation washing my hair with bar soap.

I love love love the brand and what they stand for! I can get behind a great natural shampoo that employs people, helps people, I won't go on a rant about that any further but I encourage you to check it out for yourselves! At first it was hard to adjust to natural shampoo. It definitely doesn't leave your hair silly soft while your washing it but it's kinda cool that your hair feels squeaky clean. Literally. It took me 2 weeks to head to the Mothers Market and purchase the conditioner. Again, it's not like a regular shampoo so your hair won't be silly but it will be squeaky clean. I have oily straight short hair so maybe that is how it works on me. I use a frizz creme for when I dry my hair and it becomes a lil softer. The brand mentions that every batch is different so I will come back to review the next bottle I purchase. Also, I share the shampoo with my kids. They are 4 and 6. They can handle it and we are careful not to get it on their faces. The lavender scent is a plus because we do shower and bathtime before bed so I hope it kinda helps lure them to relax.

I know that everyone has a different reaction to certain products. This shampoo was tough to work with. I have relatively thick, straight hair and I had to use 3-4 pumps just to get enough product through my scalp and hair. It felt slightly sticky in the shower (I have well water, but softened with softener system) and even with using the accompanying conditioner, it felt tangly after washes. I was left with an itchy scalp and hair that got greasy within a day or so. My 10 year old daughter had similar results. I gave it 2 stars because the scent was pleasant, and the cleaner ingredient list was appreciated. It just isn't a great product for me.
