Despite the pictures showing a diagonal channel versus a vertical one these are the updated version and the vendor has not yet updated the pictures on the packaging. I confirmed this with Akebono support after purchasing these. Installed on my 2004 Honda CR-V and they work great; no noise, and great stopping bite.     • Better than OEM! 914A's fit my Honda CRV 2016 FWD
No issues with stopping and zero noise level, 914A comes with hardware kits. Comes with two different kits (pad retainer where the shoe rests on the caliper) so make sure you know which one fits in your car. If you install the bigger one/ wrong one, it might touch your rotors and cause an annoying squeak. Hardware kits aside, the brake pads are top of the line, no noise and very low dust. Akebonos are great for any car and I definitely recommend it. I realized my Honda came with Akebonos from the start. I hope to get 100k mileage out of these with little to light hwy driving, 75k with moderate or about 40-50K with heavy city brake usage. Since these are OEM quality if not better, I expect these to last until the wheels fall off. ... show more

This is my second set of Akebono brake pads for my 2007 Accord EX-L 2.4L. My first set were installed in 2016. All brackets and shims were included. Akebono ACT914A Ultra-Premium Ceramic Front Disc Brake Pads worked on 2014 Honda CR-V. Same size as original, good stopping power after I "Burnished brakes". No squeaking. Smell is gone after conditioning new brake pads and rotors like in about a mile. I had to clean up protecting black coating though that overlapped the edges a bit. All hardware was included. Brakes arrived on time. They appeared to be new, but the brakes were not in a box and did not have replacement clips to seat the pads. They seem to be working fine.

    • Not the Akebono I have grown used to
I've been using Akebono brake pads exclusively on my family fleet of cars since 2014 and I've grown used to paying a premium in exchange for a high quality product delivering predictable and excellent results. I'm not sure if I just got a bad lot but the Akebono Ultra-premium grey pads I recently installed on my son's Honda Accord were of questionable build quality and construction. The paint on the ends of the base metal was extremely thick and I had to sand most of it off to get the pads to fit into the brake caliper housing without binding. And once in that housing the pads didn't act and behave like they belonged there --they are junk IMO and I'm not expecting them to last very long. Do better Akebono. ... show more
