The steps is very sturdy and folds very thin, about 1.5” when folded, so storing it in small places is very easy. I’m about 240lbs and it was very sturdy when I was on the top step, no bowing or flexing on the plastic. If I could give half stars I would. The only complaint is that to get the ladder to lock in the support (see the 2nd photo), it takes some force. I had no problem with this but someone with not a lot of hand strength might have difficulties. Overall I’d say a solid 4.5 stars. ... show more

The step stool has 3 steps and folds easily. When I open the stool it takes me standing on the steps to lock the top step in place. The 1st time unlocking the stool to fold it up seemed difficult, but it was far easier to unlock after the 1st try. The steps are plastic but seem sturdy and are rated for 500 lbs! There is padding along the top of the stool as well ... show more

OK, so it's a step stool. I have a Costco one to compare it to and here are my findings. 1. This unit is about 6 inches wider than the Costco one giving it a sturdier feeling on top step. 2. Easy to open and close, the Costco one is a tad easier but it not much of a difference. 3. Construction, this unit has more metal parts verse the Costco one, to me this mean it will last longer. 4. Price is about the same as the Costco one we have, so I believe this unit is a better value. I would recommend this step stool to anyone looking for a sturdy, wider stair tread and overall safer step stool. ... show more

    • gargantuan, but sturdy
Wow, this thing is huge up in person. It's really about the statue of a young adult, no joke. That aside, I think this is a very handy tool to have in the house. The one quirk that I don't like about it is that you have to really SMASH the topmost step into its divot to fully expand the ladder. This is done intentionally so that the step ladder is very sturdy, and it is rock solid. But it does take some effort pushing the topmost step into the groove so that it 'locks' into place. Because of that, it's also very annoying when you have to disassemble the step ladder to put away because it does require some effort to pull the step from its groove to fold the ladder back into itself. But overall, I much prefer that it's a bit inconvenient in that regard than have an unsteady ladder. I feel confident and comfortable that the ladder is VERY sturdy so these little precautions are more pros than cons. ... show more

We like this model and would give it five stars except that the handle on the top step is sharp underneath and could cut your hand. It takes some force to close it up -- at least while it's new and stiff. Maybe when it loosens up a bit this won't be such a big issue. Love the broad top step for more stability when you step up beyond the height where you can rely on the handle for stability. Easily hangs on the wall in our garage without any parts sticking out to catch passer's by. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Once I can get this fully open and seated, it is very sturdy. It's also very easy to fold up and carry away. The only issue I had is that it doesn't unfold very smoothly, and the top step takes a bit of an effort to lock into place to feel secure. I've had to forcefully persuade (pound with hand) it to lock the top step on the cross bar. But once it locks, it feels secure. ... show more

    • Three Important Features Make this One a Winner
If what you're looking for a stepladder for either use around the house, repairs, or even remodeling, this one is a solid option for the price tag. But really, I can sum up the best three reasons to get it. 1. Has a handrail. My mother in law has this fear of two and three-step ladders that she has to find her balance on as she's stepping on them. But this basically has a hand-rail that you can use for support and balance as you start to go up it. So she feels much more comfortable using this one than other stepladders. 2. Rail can be used to brace your legs. I'm fairly tall, so there are plenty of things I simply don't need a stepladder for. But when I'm replacing a ceiling fan, it obviously pays to get higher up, makes things easier to work on. Unlike the usual stepladders with no hand brace, this one actually doubles as a means of bracing my shins when I'm standing on it. So I find it much easier to keep my balance. And less chance of hurting myself. 3. Improved weight support. This proved so handy when my Wife's Uncle and I had to get a new Samsung front-load washer onto a porch that the porch stairs wouldn't easily accommodate (at least not without the risk of us dropping it). Needing to lift it on the side of the porch, I was concerned that the stool wouldn't be able to handle the additional weight of the washer. But it's sturdy, durable, and dependable (so far). I'd recommend it, for now. If anything changes with the overall quality, I'll be sure to visit this review again and update it accordingly. ... show more

    • So sturdy
This thing is a beast in a very narrow box. My husband and I were both surprised by what i pulled out of the box based on the size. The box was so narrow and so tall, I didn’t realize how tall this was going to be and he didn’t realize how portable. I can easily just stash it behind the front the door with the broom, while at the same time the dang thing stands up to my chin!! I can now reach all the things! I love this, its so study. It locks into place by you standing on the top step which I am fine with, that doesn’t bother me as it feels so secure. I have seen a lot of people say because of that they have a hard time closing it. I have not experience that, i just know its going to be a little more aggressive and it is. I would recommend to anyone short, anyone doing small projects around the house, anyone with an annoying step stool they keep moving around the kitchen because its always in the way… ... show more
