As a renter, our home does not have a built-in dishwasher, so dish duty has always fallen to whoever happened to be standing closest to the sink. Since it is usually just my husband and me, I thought a countertop dishwasher might be the perfect solution, and so far I have been very impressed. The size is ideal for smaller households, apartments, RVs, or anyone with limited kitchen space. It is compact enough to fit comfortably on a countertop while still holding a surprising number of dishes. Plates, cups, bowls, and silverware fit easily, making it perfect for everyday use. Setup was simple, and I like that it can be used with the built-in water tank or connected directly to a faucet if preferred. The controls are straightforward, and the variety of wash programs makes it easy to choose the right cycle for different needs. I even got a smile out of seeing a fruit washing setting included. The cleaning performance has been excellent. While it is not intended for large pots and pans, it does a great job with everyday dishes and leaves everything clean and ready to use. The drying function is another feature I appreciate, helping dishes come out dry and reducing the need for towel drying afterward. I was also pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is. It runs quietly enough that it does not become distracting while operating. At around 15 pounds, it is manageable to move if needed, making it a practical option for temporary setups, RV travel, or small kitchens. I have mixed feelings about this machine. The irony is brutal. Since it won't fit under my cabinets I tried putting it in the space where my landlord is supposed to have a dishwasher and refuses It’s designed for people who don't have a built in dishwasher, yet it is so tall and boxy that it completely fails the countertop part of its job because it hits standard upper cabinets. Putting it down on the floor in the empty dishwasher alcove like I had to do is a clever spatial workaround, but it highlights exactly how difficult these mini appliances actually are. The design friction: The Top Fill Nightmare. Most of these portable units require you to manually pour water into a hatch on the very top of the machine using a pitcher until it beeps. If it doesn't fit under your cabinets on the counter, you certainly can't easily pour gallons of water into the top of it while it's sitting under the lip of a lower cabinet cutout. The Drainage Problem: It relies on gravity or a small internal pump to push wastewater out of a hose. If it’s sitting all the way down on the floor, getting that drain hose up and into your sink basin is going to be an uphill battle, literally. Microscopic Capacity: You can fit maybe two plates, a bowl, a couple of mugs, and some silverware before it is completely jammed. For the sheer amount of physical labor it takes to fill it, hook up the drainage, and clear space for it, you could have already hand washed the dishes three times over. The Verdict If you don't have a built in dishwasher, saving your hands and energy from constant scrubbing is a valid goal. But this specific machine is a logistical pain. Since it won't fit on my countertops and it's not really functional where it is now and I don't have space to put it anywhere else then it's probably useless to me which is sad because we are tired of hand washing all of our dishes but have decided that it's not worth the effort. I feel this would work best for someone in an RV situation or for someone who has different spatial boundaries from me where you could put it on a separate stand out of the way with a 5 gallon bucket underneath it to catch the water but even then that sounds like a nightmare.

My landlord does not provide a dishwasher and will not allow a permanent installation, so I found my own solution and this AIRMSEN countertop unit has been exactly what I needed. I do not have room for a full size rollaway model so the compact size fits my situation perfectly and stores right in the pantry when it is not in use. The best part is that it does not require any permanent connections to my plumbing at all. I can run it straight from the tank if I want to, which gives me flexibility that a standard dishwasher simply cannot offer. My routine is simple: I prep my dishes, load them up, add detergent, and let it run its cycle without babysitting it. When it is done I air dry everything, put it all away, and slide the unit back into the pantry until next time. Eight wash programs means I have options depending on what I am cleaning that day. I’m truly impressed with this small but mighty countertop dishwasher. It was easy to set up following the easy to understand instructions and takes up minimal space on the counter. I appreciate the various options for the inlet water including the water tank that gives the flexibility of using it anywhere, not just connecting to a water supply. The multiple settings allow you to choose the best way to properly clean whatever it is you’re washing. The surprisingly large capacity is perfect for small families, couples or individuals who don’t need or have the space for a larger, full size dishwasher. In about a hour, this machine washed & dried my dishes without making much noise. This is a compact, convenient, affordable solution that saves water and energy so you can do the things you enjoy rather than wash dishes by hand.
