If you are looking for a compatible no-ozone light/cell replacement for the Air Scrubber Plus A1013A, this one works. It arrived in excellent condition and I had no difficulty changing it out myself. Make sure you unplug the unit first. It is also important to notice before you remove it in what direction the Scrubber is turned in your furnace duct. There are four screws on the outside, and 2 holding the cell in place on the inside. Easily slid out the cell, plug in the new one, replace 2 screws, position the Scrubber in the needed direction for your furnace and replace the 4 screws. Lastly plug it in. Should see the blue LED light on. Saved a lot of money. This worked well for the Ozone-Free ActivePure Cell Item # US71088. (Used in place of)

I purchased this unit to replace a 2 year old bulb that had stopped working for an Activtex Air Scrubber Plus, Model A1013A. The scrubber and installation cost $1100 in Northern VA. When I called the original installer to get a replacement, I was quoted a price of $700 for the replacement with installation. This is an unreasonable price as the install required removing 4 nuts and 2 screws, swapping the new PCO for the old, and re-tightening the same screws / bolts. When I called Activtek to purchase a replacement directly they said "we only sell to HVAC installers and not direct to consumers...." My opinion, this is unreasonable markup when you consider the replacement PCO unit costs $115 and takes under 10 minutes to change out. One thing I have noted is this unit does not generate the ozone smell that the original created. Does this mean it is not working or I purchased an incorrect unit? Only time will tell! So if you are asking yourself, is this a review on the unit or the situation? It is a bit of both. As far as the unit and the GreenTech Environmental go, the entire transaction was perfect, the GreenTech Env. was helpful and the installation was easy. I am simply frustrated that Activtek creates obstacles when it is not required

I ordered this bulb and it fit my Air Scrubber by Aerus (Model Number A1013P). You can save money changing the bulb yourself. You take off 4 nuts and 2 screws on the inside. Only safety concern is to make sure you unplug the unit when changing the bulb.

We installed this unit about 2 weeks ago and we've noticed that every time the AC or heat runs, there is a definitive plastic smell throughout the house. This unit was supposed to be a direct replacement (according to the manual) to our old unit. Our previous unit produced a very clean smell throughout the house but this one is horrible. We may be returning this one. UPDATE. We removed the unit and returned it for a refund only to have the company state the "The RCI Cell works absolutely fine. According to our return policy we are not able to send you a refund since the item has been used." How are you supposed to test something without "using" it? And if it's working "fine" why did the house smell like melted plastic the entire time the unit was in use? The smell disappeared immediately once the unit was removed. This unit is NOT working "fine" as unless it's supposed to turn yellow with only 2 weeks of use and push a foul, melted plastic odor throughout the house.

The service tech said because it wasn't made by the original manufacturer, it wasn't doing anything, not cleaning the air like the original. I think he was miffed that i could find this replacement part and do it myself for a 1/4 the price they want to bilk me every year or two when the bulb burns out. It is working fine. Light shows it is working and i can smell the ozone type smell now again. Time will tell if it lasts as long as original part, which is just over the one year warranty the original offered. Funny thing is this replacement part has a sticker on the side of it stating warranty is void if installed by unlicensed person. Oh well. I did notice when installing this replacement it is lightly larger in width one way, just enough that i had to slightly enlarge the opening in the duct work with pliers. No big deal there.

The item came broken, but functional. I don’t know if it broke during shipping or manufacturing. There is a plastic base on the bulb that was broke, but the bulb worked so instead of the delay of returning it and waiting another week for a new one I’m just using it. The bulb works, my blue indicator light is back on.
