So, as others have said, the instructions are, well, ummm, confusing at best. At least I was able to figure out where the batteries go. And why on earth does this not come with batteries? Sorry, a pet-peeve of mine! So, you have read the other reviews and you know how to use it - just pull the trigger. Oh, to change from C to F, hold the MODE button for a few seconds. Then click the Mode button to go to the next menu and then the * button to change the option. So I tested this out quite a bit. You have to be close to your object, think of one foot. The further you are away, I think it just picks up room temps or something! My biggest issue is that it doesn't always give an instantaneous read. It did on the food in my freezer and on the stove, but not the A/C vent which should have been pretty fast. I actually had to hold the trigger while it "thought" about it and I watched the temperature drop on the unit. Weird, but I took a star off for it. It can also lose a .5 of a start for the instructions. If they were clearer, it probably would make a huge difference in the rating people gave this. Overall, it works, seems to be pretty accurate, and it is easy to read. I hope this review was helpful! ... show more

    • Gr8 guns- superbly bright LED and long range
Best guns ive seen - Tested these guns with my brood of 5 kittens last night and I had hubble telescoping range with this light - i could command an army of space kittens at hyper speed with the flash of my wrist. I have a marine repair shop and the last 4 various brands i bought arent even close to the brightness these have, and the price is superb. Large screens as well- i work outside so having a bright light is incredibly important. These seem to fit the bill perfectly i might buy another 2 in case these get lost or damaged. ... show more

Very nice device.. screen is a little hard to read outdoors in bright daylight, but I don’t think that’s a real negative. Cup your hand around it and it’s fine. Perfect display indoors. Very happy with the purchase.
