In the 6 months since I bought this its been from USA to India twice, through the washing machine once, and dropped a whole bunch of times. It still works great. It holds a huge pile of music in MP3. It has real actual buttons, so you can press them without looking. If you use a plug in headphone instead of bluetooth, the battery lasts for-freaking-ever, like more than enough for a 24 hour flight without needing to recharge. The plug is USB C so transferring music is pretty fast, and recharging is fast also. It has a standard headphone jack, or it can bluetooth. And buttons. glorious actual buttons. This was the last element I needed to be able to get off my phone and into the zone in my workouts. It is handy- small enough that I am not fumbling with it with my giant hands, but big enough that I can keep track of it. Connection to bluetooth headphones is almost perfect- a little signal distortion from time to time, but not enough for me to return it. Would not connect to Andriod even after it said it connected, but the alternative was fine if more time consuming. I will try to connect it to my phone again at some point- maybe it will work. ... show more

    • Great Sound - Repeat Purchase

This is my second purchase of an AGPTEK MP3 Player and I am not disappointed. My first one still works but the battery is starting to require more charging, usually a sign that it is nearing the end of life. I have heavily used the first one for at least 4 years and most likely longer uniquely to play MP3 music while exercising, biking or traveling. It's compact, simple to operate, generates great sound and connects easily to any blue tooth device. And importantly it's not expensive. Granted I've done the setup previously but I honestly believe anyone with a little patience and the willingness to review the small manual should be able to have this up and running quickly. The volume control (Up/Down) is on the right side clearly marked with up or down arrows and doesn't require any more than hitting those buttons to set the preferred volume. There is a single return or back button that may indeed require to be hit multiple times if you have navigated to several levels of a sub menu but it's really intuitive. It isn't perfect and probably not for everyone. I can't vouch for all of the additional "features" that have been implemented. Personally I can't even imagine loading up a small device like this with photos or videos that would require a magnifying glass to see but if that's your thing then go for it. But I can say that for the price this little item generates excellent convenient sound and my experience leads me to believe it's solidly made. ... show more

    • Pretty good for audiobooks - very bad clip

I only use this unit for audiobooks, half the time on headphones, half on a BT speaker or BT'd to the car. BT isn't the latest, it's a little weak in the car and drops connection sometimes, not sure why. One complaint is the lack of an equalizer - highest volume setting is barely enough for clarity outside or in the shower. But then, I haven't been completely happy with an MP3 player since my last SanDisk Clip+ died, and I'm not very good with compromise. That said, this one does lock if you hold down the left function (?) button and unlocks the same way. Setting a shutoff time is a lot of button presses but it gets automatic after a month or so LoL Overall, good for my use - took a star off because the volume control rocker won't just roll up or down with a press. You'll have to press the rocker to display the volume, THEN you press again to change volume. Annoying, but less annoying than the earlier version of this player IMHO. SIX MONTH UPDATE: This morning, the clip snapped off when I used it. I thought it was loose, but one side of the swivel is broken. As a "clip" MP3 player, this device is now worthless. I have been searching for an MP3 player to replace my old, original, Timmkoo player (no model # on it). It was a superb piece of audio equipment. EXTREMELY intuitive and simple to use. Sound quality was marvelous, plenty of bass. Sadly, the superseding models from Timmkoo (Q3 and Q5) have turned a great product into garbage. The HiBy music system used by Timmkoo, very prevalent now, is NOT intuitive and definitely NOT user friendly. I tried a couple of different MP3 players and both were lacking in music reproduction and volume and were not intuitively user friendly. So, I ordered this AGPTEK player. And boy, what a great little MP3 player this is!! Very simple to setup and easy to use. Outstanding sound reproduction with plenty of bass, without excessive treble, and plenty of volume on the MAX setting. The factory 'equalizer' setting is very well adjusted, but you can modify the equalizer, buried deep in this device, if you can find it. It is easy to simply copy music folders from a PC and then directly play them without having to create playlists. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with this product. ... show more
