Why did you pick this product vs others?: Having spent a fortune on hair products that never worked I took my chance with this one after watching a video of a woman who claimed that this was the holy grail. I can't believe how good this product is. I have always had thin hair but now it has gotten very sparse too. Every product weighs them down. Not this one! My curls last much longer than with other products and it doesn't look greasy or wet or feel sticky. Very liquid so it is very easy to apply and distrubute. My son tried it and he loves it too. this is a very nice gel. It doesn't weigh my hair down or make my hair feel sticky. It does dry with a bit of a cast on my waves, but it crunches right out. Doesn't take much product so it should last a while. I don't notice any strong unpleasant scent with it.

This was worse than using nothing. It’s very runny and did not work well with my fine curls. Hair was sticky after application and my hair just looked tangled and dirty after it was diffused.

I think the gel has a great hold however if you are protein sensitive, this is not the right product for you. I have low porosity curly hair. So my hair doesn’t like a lot of protein & this product has two protein ingredient in it and causes my hair frizz. I do like the AG Care fast food leave in conditioner tho. I live in a very humid area where it rains all fall and winter. I struggled when I moved to this location to find the right products to hold my curls but not damage my hair. After some experimenting, I found that I like how this holds my curls, especially when it is raining because it leaves a nice casting on your curls. However, my curls have textures that range from course, thick and unruly to soft and bouncy and I find that I need a product that is slightly thicker than that of AG Care Liquid Effects Extra-Firm Styling Lotion. Final thoughts - It is a great product and I do believe that most people with curls will find it useful for their hair. The environment your curls are around does matter, so experiment with your products with different weather or locations. ... show more
