If I found it so painful, why did I give it 4 stars? It works well and is simple enough to use. It does “heat up”, but not super warm. You can change the direction of the massagers. I think this is perfect for this type of massage. However, I don’t think I am a fan of this type of massage. I used it for less than 10 minutes and the next day my skin felt like someone had punched me. It didn’t hurt too much whenever I was using it, but the next day it was a different story. I felt like I was beat up by this thing. There are 3 speed levels and it doesn’t seem to get stuck. It’s pretty steady and pushes through those muscles. … a little too much. I gave it to my mom, who initially loved it. Then the next day she told me she hated it and didn’t want it because she also felt the soreness Anyway, not for us. But works great and it’s cheap. So if you’re into this kind of massage, then it’s the perfect price point for what tou get.

I have fibromayalgia and I honestly wish I had purchased this way sooner when I first started looking into this. The heat and massage is really awesome. It is really nice for the back but works SUPER nice on the neck and cervical area at the base of the skull where those really stubborn and pesky migraines originate from. I highly recommend this product. I wish it were rechargeable as thst would make it more mobile, but honestly this would not be all that difficult to take on the go. You would just need to be able to plug it in somehwere. It does come with a car cigarette lighter adapter, so you can use it in your vehicle too. This will definitely be a big part of my daily routine that will give me back a huge quality of life.

This massager is easy to use and delivers on its advertised description (hence the three stars), but it definitely is not for everyone. It’s heavy on my shoulders and too big and bulky to fit comfortably on my frame. I’m a 5’ 4” senior female of average build and average physical fitness, but this massager feels like it would be much better suited on a younger, taller, and more athletic build. The movement of the massager isn’t exactly painful, but it’s definitely not relaxing and the following day my entire neck (even the side that isn’t stiff), was slightly sore from the pummeling action of the rotating balls. While the straps for your wrists do give you some control on how much pressure is put on your shoulders and neck, the size and shape of the massager require a certain amount of force for it to just stay in place. In the past, I’ve used a neck massager that’s unfortunately now off the market. It was based on the same principle of rotating balls, but the mechanism was built into a smaller and much more lightweight neck ring and the rotation action was less rigorous than in this one. If you’re smaller, older, and/or not very athletic, then you’re probably better off saving your money.

This review is for the AERLANG shiatsu neck massager. This massager is no joke. I read a lot of reviews for a lot of different company's neck massagers here on Amazon before I finally purchased this one. I chose this one primarily because of the arm straps and I can't tell you how hugely important they are. One can tug the massager around by the straps so it massages many parts of the neck and back, oh my gosh, legs, too. It's yummy. Now, my unit does get hot- but not too hot- and it can provide a very rigorous massage and, yes, I do recommend you take it easy the first few times because it can leave you sore if you're not careful. I won't lie. There are two rotating heads each with four rounded nubs on them-two bigger and two smaller ones, and they counter rotate and spin and then they also change the direction that they do that in every few minutes. The rotating heads have a path of travel that, at one point, puts them about 3 inches away from each other, I'd say, which can put quite the powerful squeeze on one's neck or foot or any part that gets wedged in between them at that point, but it's easy to avoid this and it's actually not so likely that it will happen to your neck because of the rounded shape of your neck. It did almost happen to my foot, though, so I just wanted to let you know that it can happen. I sit up in bed with mine wedged behind my lumbar and then I lay flat with it just behind the back of my neck, using some additional pillows to perch myself comfortably and I just feel the tension melt out of my muscles. I waited a while after purchasing and operating it (for months now) with no problems. In response to people who claim that their's stopped working or were too hot or they made grinding noises; yes, I was worried that any of those things would start to happen to mine, but so far, the one I received seems of good quality and its operating perfectly. As one of the lowest priced shiatsu neck massagers available on Amazon when I purchased, I feel like it could possibly be one of the best ones because of those arm straps and the overall quality.
