It does make ice. The basket is small and the water reservoir is small. You need to keep filling it up with water. If the add water light goes on. When you fill it, it doesn’t just start making ice. I have to shut it off and turn it back on. But it doesn’t make ice. You just have to keep watching it!

Makes ice no problem. Partially from shipping I'm sure. Not much on returning stuff. When it arrived i said i hope what's in the box don't look as bad as it. Looked like it maybe got dropped out of airplane but it actually worked. When heater comes on to release ice it sounds like my dryer alarm. Had to take to back porch to operate because it freaked out my dog and quite annoying. Ice also gets stuck in tray after 2 hours of use. Have to put in standby and wait for ice to melt. But it makes ice.

The media could not be loaded. - This makes small batch bullet-shaped ice. If you’re expecting chewy nugget ice, do your research, read the product descriptions, and pick something else. - This machine is loud, but my personal take is that the trade-off is a no brainer to get ice within minutes. I have an espresso machine and an air purifier that are just as loud; I just turn the volume up if I’m watching TV. - This ice machine is not a freezer. Each time a fresh batch of ice comes out, I take it out and put it in the freezer until I have the amount of ice I need to use for a drink. - The plastic ice scooper is slippery and doesn’t scoop up ice well. It’s easy for one or two ice bullets to slip out and onto the counter or floor - out of the eight that are made at a time. I’ve resorted to taking out the basket and pouring the ice directly into my drinking glass or storage container. - Storing ice for later use hasn’t been working well for me because the ice tends to stick together and is hard (sometimes impossible) to take apart. It could be that my freezer is too cold, or maybe I should be using a larger container so the ice can be more spread out. I don’t have room in my freezer to figure out what would work best. - The are small and large ice sizes. Large is my go-to because it doesn’t melt as quickly. For ice chewers, I recommend using the small ice - once it becomes chewable, it has a nice thin texture that’s fun to chomp on. I’m not sure how practical this ice machine is for parties or a large family. There are so many ice machines out there, and I was really indecisive about which one to get. I ordered this ice machine because it had good reviews when there were about 20 reviews overall at the time. I’m glad I took the plunge. If you look at the different brands and options, you can tell that some are identical. Some features to consider include if you want a handle for portability or an ice scoop holder. I don’t think you can go wrong with whatever you end up choosing because the mechanics are the same. It’s so convenient to be able to make ice within minutes versus using ice cube trays that take hours.

As many have said it's smaller than I was expecting but shame on me for not looking closer. Yes it is louder than it needs to be. The fan running while making ice is taking some getting used to. Wouldn't have gone 2 stars for those problems but I'm having an issue with the ice not releasing well enough then it starts making more and very quickly it's one solid block of ice that you have to thaw before using again. I feel like the mechanism that releases and scoops into the basket isn't powerful enough or doesn't wait long enough for all the pieces to drop. I've only had it about a week and if this problem persists I'm not sure I'll end up keeping it. It's not worth it if it doesn't make ice without having to be thawed.

So far this has been the bomb. We make ice every afternoon for are frozen coffee drinks and ice water, it's quick and quiet. The ice is soft until it hangs in the freezer for a while, but I expected that. Easy to clean and use. Beats fighting trays and spilling water.

Like others have stated the machine worked for about a month before it started to trip out. Now it won’t work long because the ice freezes together. I have only ever used filtered water in it and I clean it every 4 days with distilled vinegar mixed with filtered water . I loved it when it worked but I’m really bummed it stopped
