I’ve never left a review, but with this purchase felt like I needed to just in case someone is having a hard time deciding, just like we were. With all the mixed reviews, we were extremely hesitant to try this pergola, but we really liked the look and it was the right size, 14x10, so we decided to buy it. We are very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend to others! Yes, it was a lot of work to put it together, but all the pieces were there and the instructions that came with the product were very clear and outlined everything step-by-step. Very easy to follow and all the pieces came together perfectly. Would recommend using a drill to tighten everything, as per some reviews, seems like not everyone does this. Also, anchoring all five legs and attaching the pergola to the house made it very sturdy. My husband and I completed the set up in about 7 hours or so and that was with a few breaks. No regrets on buying this pergola. A great purchase!

We purchased two of these Aecojoy pergolas (each 12x16) to attach to the house on the patio (34x14) beside our pool. I read many reviews. The same brand pergolas are sold at Lowes and Home Depot, as well as other online retailers. So far, we have one pergola up but will wait until the other pergola is up before attaching to the side of the house. At 8', it fits right under the soffit. The instructions are pictures and part labels. A manfriend did the assembly. I helped with the installation. Overall, it looks "nice." Having used popup tents over this area for a few years, it's a big improvement. However, it doesn't provide the same shade as a tent 🙄. Due to the afternoon sun, I have purchased tension rods and outdoor curtains to block the sun on hot days. We will definitely get more use out of my patio now. A center post on the backside should have been provided, especially on the longer length pergolas. It is sagging in the middle and we will add whatever hardware is needed (not included) to support the middle of each pergola on the house side. Also, a middle outside bracket (inner bracket included) would have very very useful on each post both structurally and for looks (see photo). The panels are not difficult to install but a rubber mallet is very helpful with that to ensure each piece locks in. Also, a real drill is absolutely necessary! All together, I'd say we spent 10 hours to install one pergola. The installation of the second pergola will be much easier. Takes two people and a third could be helpful! We plan to use a silicone caulk down the center of both pergolas upon completion. In the event of snow, we plan to add addition supports underneath. I searched the aecojoy website for the availability of replacement panels but found none. Home Depot does sell those panels however. (I may add to my review upon completion. 🤞🏻)

Easy set up comes with basic Allen wrench . Instructions in some areas were lacking just had to try to figure it out . Turned into a 8-9 hour project with 2 people Perfect fit for our porch blocks the suns rays and can enjoy porch sitting in the rain . Top panels are durable plastic unsure if they would hold up in a bad hail storm .

To start off I did complete the install and am using this item. I did not return it because that would’ve been a massive headache. We ordered the 12 by 20 foot unit in white. So let’s go. This product’s listed dimensions ARE NOT ACCURATE. I’ve submitted a complaint because it was a huge pain to check the dimensions in advance and then have it be so far off!! The product page lists a height of 96” i.e. 8 feet at the back wall. It is NOT that height, it was over 4 inches over 8 feet, over 100 inches total, which caused it not to fit our deck/roof overhang. Because returning would have been nearly impossible with the packing and weight, I pulled out extra tools and cut the metal posts down 4 inches, which when fully assembled totaled exactly 8 feet. I now have to re-drill the holes for the anchors. If I did not have these tools I would have been forced to return or hire help. The construction is not great. The posts are all split half way and on the final product don’t look great. It’s stable, but not aesthetically pleasing seeing the screws and gap half way up all of the posts. Overall, it is sturdy in the end. But very heavy and somewhat bulky in appearance (hoping that helps with all-season use). This did NOT come with ANY tools. The instructions specifically state to only use the included tools, but there were none in my packaging. I needed a drill, Philips and Allen bits, a wrench (socket and adjustable), a rubber mallet, and a metal cutting saw to meet the actual dimensions needed for my project since it didn’t match the description. There was plenty of hardware (some said their’s was short, mine was not). A note about the assembly. If you’re building in a limited space, you’re going to struggle. I have built a ton of self-assembly and RTA products, this was nightmare level and took several days. I thought I was in the clear getting the frame done….and then the roof panels just about took me OUT. I picked this product to fit a deck space where the depth fit the deck size nearly inch for inch…and because of that I was UNABLE to completely install all parts. To complete this install you must be able to access both the front and the back with a drill and in my case….there was an entire house in the way of the back and no way to move the structure at that point in assembly to get a drill in there. So I have major concerns about heavy weather/snow affecting the roof panels since the wall-side supports can’t be installed. I’m also disappointed in the system for “wall-mounting” as there is very limited option for where the anchoring can be done and in my case doesn’t line up in spots I can drill into, so I’m working on an alternative and adapting to get it secured before the weather turns. In the end, I would NOT recommend and will NOT buy again. I threw in a star because, with it done, it does what I wanted. It provides nice shade and is mostly pretty good looking (but I stare at the ugly posts and have been thinking of ways I can hide the wonky seams, ugh). To those not deterred….good luck!

Great structure! I bought this to replace the existing one that I built by hand 5 years ago and I got to say, this was such a easy install! The whole system came in 3 big boxes. Everything was packed really well and labeled in alpha letters with written instructions so it was easy to identify and put together. Everything was put together in a matter of about 2-3 days with 2 people. All screws and pieces went in great and all aligned up. I didn't have to modify or adjust any holes. Overall great product and was well designed. It looks great once it is done and seems sturdy as well. You can attach it to the wall for added stability and it came with all the necessary brackets to do so. Very impressed and glad I bought it. Recommended!
