  • Great product for a great price!
Color: Dark Size: 14' x 10'
I’ve never left a review, but with this purchase felt like I needed to just in case someone is having a hard time deciding, just like we were. With all the mixed reviews, we were extremely hesitant to try this pergola, but we really liked the look and it was the right size, 14x10, so we decided to buy it. We are very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend to others! Yes, it was a lot of work to put it together, but all the pieces were there and the instructions that came with the product were very clear and outlined everything step-by-step. Very easy to follow and all the pieces came together perfectly. Would recommend using a drill to tighten everything, as per some reviews, seems like not everyone does this. Also, anchoring all five legs and attaching the pergola to the house made it very sturdy. My husband and I completed the set up in about 7 hours or so and that was with a few breaks. No regrets on buying this pergola. A great purchase! ... show more

  • Make sure you read this to prevent leaks!!
Color: Dark Size: 8' x 8'
Took us about 8 hours to set up, mainly because of the rain! As one reviewer said, to prevent leaks make sure you’re paying attention to the weather stripping as you slide the K pieces (roof pieces) in. When you slide them in, it’s best to have one person on a ladder holding the strips in place so they aren’t pushed free and out of place. You can tell this is happening as the weather stripping will be hanging out and off the back (someone else had a great picture of the strip hanging free, make sure you check all the photos to see what I’m talking about). It had no issues with rain and it rained the whole day after I set it up! My only other warning is to make sure you buy better anchors; the anchors that came with it were super cheap and we ended up just running down to Home Depot and buying cement anchors there. You’re definitely going to want to use some combo of the wall and ground anchors to give it support and stability. We ended up using the wall anchors for the back and then the front post anchors, which was more than enough. ... show more

  • Preassemble first and seal truss end caps with 1/4" 1x1" foam squares (not provided)
Just what we needed for our upper deck, had to make a few adjustments because it was not fit against a wall to mount and had to seal the wall side truss caps to prevent water leakage. It pays to preassemble all parts before final assembly, saves allot of time!

  • Good price
Color: Dark Size: 14' x 10'
So it’s a great buy and for the price you can’t beat it. The installation is long and time consuming with tons of screws and parts. It is somewhat flimsy and does leak. I ended up having to reinforce it with timber after a week because the wind was ready to turn it into a kite.

  • Perfect for me
Color: Dark Size: 8' x 8'
What a great product! Need two people to assemble. Takes time. Good design. Sturdy. My only complaint is that the front angle is quite low. 6’2? 6’7? I forget… back is 8’. Super design. Super well constructed. Super price point!! Looks dark dark charcoal gray. Reads almost black.

  • Flimsy
Color: Dark Size: 10' x 10'
Ok here’s the deal legs strong, cross beams not so much, lots and lots of pieces, directions were good, works great for sun protection and shade, very flimsy when we put it together, felt like it would collapse until we attached it to the wall, says it would hold up to 7” of snow really not convinced, we shall see, if it doesn’t it will be a pile of steel parts, was missing all the water proof washers but I had some from a previous project so should be good, we had 15-20 mph winds held up ok, anchored to the deck floor and connected to the house seems much more sturdy but never would hold up without connecting to the house, can’t use as a stand alone it would be super wobbly ... show more

  • Worth the money if you can’t build a permanent cover
Color: Dark Size: 10' x 8'
This a fantastic product. It fit perfectly for our application and I put a majority of it together by myself and had my husband help with securing it to the house. Survived a light snow/ice, a tornado, and heavy rain. Leaked a bit along the mid support but that is because I installed the support upside down 😆. Would recommend and buy again. ... show more

  • Some hints
Color: Dark Size: 14' x 10'
I am writing this review for the 10x14 model. Over all it looks okay, doesn’t shade as much as I had hoped but again okay. Assembly wasn’t hard, did it by myself with a ladder and a DeWalt cordless drill set on low torque. I will share some things I learned along the way. I wanted this to fit under my eve's' so I had to cut about 3 inches off the legs. I used a chop saw and a drill press to accomplish this. About the assembly itself; DON’T LOSE ANY BOLTS OR NUTS; they didn’t give any extras of anything. This would have been nice, since a couple of the nuts were missing threads. Luckily I had some nuts that fit. The bolts are cheap, heads strip easily (even by hand). When mine was manufactured the quality control person must have been on break or didn’t care. There were a lot of “punch” tabs left in the holes and almost all the threaded holes had paint in them, making it hard to put together. After I started checking the holes (before assembly) things went a lot smoother. The frame was easy to construct, the instructions (which is just pictures with few hint words) don’t tell you to leave the bolts for the “arm and beam connecters” (brackets) finger tight. Leaving them finger tight makes installing the pp boards easier, then you can make adjustments to the arms as needed. The next issue is there is a paper in the box with the pp boards that says not to remove the protective film before assembly, which is wrong. I did that for the first 7 pp boards, it was a nightmare to remove the film. Ended up taking the boards back out to get it all off. When installing the second set of pp boards I took the protective film off each before installing. I had to use a couple of putty knives to get the boards in the middle board connector slots. I found using soap & water in a spray bottle let them go together much easier. I may have put them in upside down, don’t really know the instructions only tell you to make sure the “leak” holes are up. I put the wide side up; don’t have any idea of how I would have ever gotten the boards in the slots if I did it the other way. Even after attaching the frame to my porch posts it is still a little wobbly. I didn’t attach the roof to my house, wasn’t willing to drill holes in my siding. The braces that go on the front legs are sufficient, but could have been a little bigger (might have taken some of the wobble out). Also a couple of braces on the back leg might have helped, think I’ll look for something to use for braces. Over all might buy again. 1. No written instructions 2. Don’t lose parts 3. Check for punch tabs and paint on threads 4. No back let support if not attached to the house ... show more
