  • Does the job and definitely worth the price
Size: 14' x 10'
Very good quality materials. Fast delivery. It was time consuming to put together, but the directions were easy to follow. It took about 4 hours to complete with myself and 2 easily distracted teenagers. We had 30 mph winds the day after we put ours up and it held up well, but I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend having this set up without it being anchored in someway as it swayed with the lightest breeze. The base of all five post have four holes that you can attach screws and anchor to your deck. There are also three options on the tall side where you can anchor it to a structure easily. Due to the placement of the back door and windows on our back deck, we needed a little more height so we had a 4x6 post cut at Home Depot to 6 1/2 inches long, spray painted them the same color as the frame, and anchored them to the deck, and the screwed the base of the poles to the blocks. It is extremely sturdy. The taller side against the house only had two poles versus the three poles on the shorter side which did cause a very little bit of sagging in the middle of the tall side for the 10x14 we purchased. However, this was easily corrected Once we use the included anchor and attached it above our windows. I have had rain since we put it up and it has been completely waterproof. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase, and think the price point is perfect. ... show more

  • Some hints
Size: 14' x 10'
I am writing this review for the 10x14 model. Over all it looks okay, doesn’t shade as much as I had hoped but again okay. Assembly wasn’t hard, did it by myself with a ladder and a DeWalt cordless drill set on low torque. I will share some things I learned along the way. I wanted this to fit under my eve's' so I had to cut about 3 inches off the legs. I used a chop saw and a drill press to accomplish this. About the assembly itself; DON’T LOSE ANY BOLTS OR NUTS; they didn’t give any extras of anything. This would have been nice, since a couple of the nuts were missing threads. Luckily I had some nuts that fit. The bolts are cheap, heads strip easily (even by hand). When mine was manufactured the quality control person must have been on break or didn’t care. There were a lot of “punch” tabs left in the holes and almost all the threaded holes had paint in them, making it hard to put together. After I started checking the holes (before assembly) things went a lot smoother. The frame was easy to construct, the instructions (which is just pictures with few hint words) don’t tell you to leave the bolts for the “arm and beam connecters” (brackets) finger tight. Leaving them finger tight makes installing the pp boards easier, then you can make adjustments to the arms as needed. The next issue is there is a paper in the box with the pp boards that says not to remove the protective film before assembly, which is wrong. I did that for the first 7 pp boards, it was a nightmare to remove the film. Ended up taking the boards back out to get it all off. When installing the second set of pp boards I took the protective film off each before installing. I had to use a couple of putty knives to get the boards in the middle board connector slots. I found using soap & water in a spray bottle let them go together much easier. I may have put them in upside down, don’t really know the instructions only tell you to make sure the “leak” holes are up. I put the wide side up; don’t have any idea of how I would have ever gotten the boards in the slots if I did it the other way. Even after attaching the frame to my porch posts it is still a little wobbly. I didn’t attach the roof to my house, wasn’t willing to drill holes in my siding. The braces that go on the front legs are sufficient, but could have been a little bigger (might have taken some of the wobble out). Also a couple of braces on the back leg might have helped, think I’ll look for something to use for braces. Over all might buy again. 1. No written instructions 2. Don’t lose parts 3. Check for punch tabs and paint on threads 4. No back let support if not attached to the house ... show more

  • Impressed so far!
Size: 10' x 10'
I wanted to have a covered space on a new addition for our back deck - about a 10.5’x12’ area. This has been a really good, low cost option that seems pretty sturdy. The instructions were relatively simple to follow - it’s mostly pictures so just look carefully. The overall setup wasn’t too bad. You would expect a quality canopy should take a few hours to assemble- and it did, probably around 3-4 hours it took me. I did all the assemble and setup by myself, however I’m a pretty big guy and it certainly would have made things a lot easier if I had an extra hand. It gives really good, filtered shade. The roof panels are different but look good, but I wouldn’t want it on my front porch kinda good. They can be a little tricky installing. I ended up cutting some 6x6s to set it on so I wouldn’t have to duck. I’m 6’4”, and with the canopy on the 6x6s, I have a good inch or two clearing on the low end- feel free to do the math without posts. I’m still deciding how to make the posts look good. We haven’t had any storms or high winds yet, but I feel pretty confident it would sustain some bad weather- after securing the legs of course. ... show more

  • Perfect pergola
Size: 10' x 10'
It’s not too difficult to put together with three adults. There was definitely trouble shooting with only picture instructions, but it’s very sturdy and we are pleased with how it turned out.

  • Not an easy install as presented
Size: 14' x 10'
First of all the video on the install for this porch cover so that it will take about 2 1/2 maybe three hours with two people. There were so many parts and you had to decipher what part was wet. The holes were not drilled to specifications. There was just a little off here or a little off there, which made it extremely difficult to get things lined up. This is not a freestanding porch cover by any means. You have to have a wall to attach this to. Which is fine, because that was the whole key to why I bought this. The experience of getting this thing together was dreadful. I will say that after we got it completed last night we had rain and it did not leak so that is a positive. I would’ve been very surprised if it had leaked because there is no leeway when you’re putting this together. Everything is an extremely tight fit. it took us about 14 hours total to get this porch cover together and installed. It was not an enjoyable experience. We had ones from where you’re trying to slide in the ceiling panels and the edges are very sharp. I do suggest that you have work gloves when you’re putting this bad boy together. I am hoping I will get enjoyment out of this now that it has taken so much out of me. But it won’t be anytime soon. At this point, I don’t even wanna look at it! ... show more
