I put this up on my deck. I added 4x6 wood blocking between the joists under the planks to attach the 3/8 heavy duty lag screws. It's very sturdy and it is holding up to some spring storms and wind gusts. I needed an area for my dogs to get a bit of shade on my odd shaped deck. It gets very hot on the deck and it burns their paws. It wasn't too difficult to assemble. It looks nice. I'm pretty sure it will hold up for a few yrs. My only issue is the visible welding on the posts, it looks bad.

This is a very nice gazebo. Unfortunately the directions don't tell you how far apart to set the posts. I installed the cross bar first so I got the measurement of 66 1/2 inches between the square posts. Turned out perfect. Be aware that the size of concrete anchors is 9/16" which, when it comes to SDS drill bits, is harder to find so I purchased Red Head 1/2" anchors from HD. They worked just fine. All in all a very nice looking gazebo. I will be really curious as to how well it hold up over next winter. We usually get about three inches of snow. I would say the value is about right. I took off one star because some parts could be a little more heavy duty and the directions aren't the greatest though it's not hard to figure out.

I could not complete assembly due to shoddy fabrication. Multiple female fittings for the roof support bars broke away from the inside of the aluminum crossbar, meaning the screws could not be tightened. There was more than an inch of movement, meaning that the roof panels would flap in the wind, and the structure would inevitably fail. As mentioned in a previous review, the manufacturer is asking me to ship the item back to them at my own expense. Buy at own risk. Additionally, the instructions said to space the support columns 69.69” apart. Either you use metric measurements with decimals, or Imperial measurements with fractions, and not some ungodly mish-mash of the two.

All I can say is that t directions were super easy and yes you will need 2 people. Most important Do Not build on a dirt ground it will not hold up. ( I was so upset then it came to me) I ended up filling the beam with cement for stability and putting the beam in a large flower pot then filling that with cement. It’s such a beautiful gazebo once up. Good luck Update: The first forceful wind and it tipped over or at least tried. I went to ACE hardware and grabbed 2 non resistant straps (kinda like bungee cords but made out of hard rubber) wrapped it around each pole close the cement and staked them into the ground, stakes in back of planter pot. ( get the thick plastic stakes with the hole, wide enough for the bungee metal grip). It was perfect, hard wind and it doesn’t move.

I live in the PNW and have been looking at a grilling gazebo for a while. This one is unique compared to the others and I’m happy with it. Did not want a four post enclosure especially the ones with the shelves on the side which is sold as a ‘feature ‘ but are really braces for a flimsy product. Also did not want one where I would attach to the house as I did not want to compromise the siding. For this one, I have a warranty voiding attachment to my deck with angle iron for strength and anchors into my paver patio for stability. Wasn’t going to cut into the siding, wasn’t going to dig up my pavers to pour new footings. A little jury rigged but came out as expected and really like not having the posts in the front, we call it the bus stop. Not sure this would work as well for the 8x8 but seems fine for the 8x5 Thought I might have to anchor the second post with a brace to the foundation but when assembled it’s solid, no sway and has not moved on some fairly windy days. Like that the frame is aluminum, like the lightweight cover, wish the cover channels were also aluminum but overall no complaints. Instructions call for you to anchor the posts first (good luck). I built the frame, used a 2x4 to stand it up, leveled it (has a slope right to left so measured posts distance) then tied it to the deck then anchored the posts with 3/8 red hats which fit in the existing holes. Thought I’d post this for others who might have similar anchoring issues.

Really happy with the quality of this awning, went together fairly easily in an afternoon. One big issue - the included anchor bolts are somewhere between 1/2 and 5/8, neither size masonry bit works. I replaced with a 1/2 wedge tail but this meant I had to dremel the hole in the base larger. Overall happy with it.
