This is a good first microscope for someone who wants to start looking at slides and small samples without jumping into anything too advanced. It comes with enough accessories to make it feel like a complete starter set, and I liked that there were prepared slides included so it could be used right away. The lighting worked well enough for basic viewing, and the different magnification options gave plenty to experiment with. It is a nice setup for students, kids, or anyone curious about seeing things up close. The phone adapter was just mediocre for me. It works, but getting everything lined up can be a little fiddly, and I would not buy it just for that feature. The microscope itself is the main reason to get this set, and as a beginner setup, it does okay.

This is my first microscope. Wow it’s awesome. I put my tap water in one of the containers that came with it , and I will never drink my tap water again !

The microscope is decent for basic use, but the image quality isn't as clear as I expected. Focusing can be a little difficult, and the build feels somewhat cheap. It works, but there is definitely room for improvement.

This is a cheap microscope, but it is about what I expected. The phone mount is hard to get set up correctly, needed some tape to shim it and make it usable. The focus controls are not very precise, and the lights are useful but weak and non-adjustable. The higher magnification lenses have a very small sweet spot, so getting a good view can be difficult. It is solidly built, usable, it's pretty much what I expected. Much more usable than the "kid's" style microscopes, much more solid.

I was impressed the microscope was made of metal! The build is sturdy, the stage and lenses will hold up for repeated use. This includes a kit to clean the lenses, microfiber cloth, air puffer, alcohol wipes. It also includes a kit for specimens, water dropper, glass slides, glass slips, tweezers, a tiny enclosed disk for general observation of bugs. It has two lights one from the bottom and one from the top of the stage; the brightness is adjustable with a knob on the side. This is actually an incredible microscope kit for $50. The aperture was replaced for a light filter, which is useful with different kinds of stains(not included). There's no fine adjustment which makes things challenging in the higher magnifications. The phone holder does work but had to create a collar to tighten up and keep the lens centered. There's higher end options out there but they come with a higher end price. This is worth the price tag!

Build is solid for the price, metal frame, stable, and the focus controls are easy to use. The dual LED lighting is actually helpful, especially when switching between slides and solid objects. The optics are the issue. The 10x eyepiece is fine, but the higher magnification options, like the 25x and stacked combos, don’t add real detail, just more zoom with less clarity. Images get softer and harder to focus, which can be frustrating. If you stay in the lower magnification range 40x–400x, it’s a much better experience and you can get clean, usable views. The included kit is nice for getting started, and the phone adapter works with some patience. But so far, it’s a good beginner scope for learning, just don’t rely on the higher magnification claims, the lenses limit what you actually see. Not a premium microscope. One of ours home schools her daughters, and this is for their science requirement, and they absolutely LOVE it. I got them a box of pre-made "younger kid" slides (butterfly wing scale, grasshopper leg, leaf veins, etc.) and a box of blank slides for making pond algae, grass blade, etc. slides, and their mom says they never put it away. It focuses easily and the eye piece is big enough for untrained little eyes to see through. It's also heavy enough to not be easily pushed off the table, but not at all too cumbersome for Mom to be able to easily move out of the way. This was a great tool for them.

This is a nice microscope, but the instructions are rudimentary and not enough for someone who is new to this. There is a lot of guesswork as far as where all the parts go and how it all fits together. Aside from that, the microscope looks well made and durable. It is definitely not just a toy. I think it is well worth the money, I just wish it came with better instructions.
