This is exactly what I was looking for to haul lumber in my truck for home projects. I have a 6.5' bed on my truck and with the tailgate down I get about 8.5'. For the picture in my review I am hauling 12' lumber, so I didn't really need the extender for that, but it was VERY helpful to have it. When I carried 16' deck boards it was absolutely necessary. This bed extender was reasonably priced and is of high quality. I had it out of the box, assembled, and was on my way to the store in about 10 minutes. I plan to use it for my kayak, too. When you need it, you really need it. That's all I can say. Pros: Easy to assemble/disassemble for storage Built of high quality material and is sturdy Multiple setting options of both length and width for different size loads Works for everything from lumber to kayaks Comes with a red warning flag to attach to cargo Cons: None of which I could think. This product is very easy to assemble, found to be good and sturdy, wish the joints fit better, found that there is slop in the joints but handles the load just fine, welds seem good, great adjustability!!

I recently inherited a huge canoe. A shop wanted thousands to install a roof rack on my truck. Found this hitch extender and it works great! Like they say in the video, without the canoe it's wiggles and rattles a lot, but once the canoe is tied down, it was rock solid. Totally worth the purchase.     • Very good kayak hitch
I have been very happy with the kayak hitch. It is pretty easy to assemble; which is good because the instructions are not great. It is fairly sturdy and has had not rust issues that some others mention. I like the fact the hitch is not straight but has a slight angle up which is important for driveways and boat ramps (better clearance). The included flag is a nice touch. I do wish it came with foam pads for the metal "Y" rail and also a bolt / pin to lock it into the hitch. Still a good product overall. ... show more

My Mavericks bed is only 4feet 6 inches. Its difficult at best to haul boards or anything longer than 6 feet. This thing solved that problem. Its easy to assemble, sturdy, and adds 4 feet to the length of my bed. We very easily hauled 20 2x6x12 boards in the Maverick with this. Fits right in your 2 inch trailer hitch receiver. I love the build of this thing. It's sturdy and welds seem really well done. Fit and finish OK. The only issue which is easily remedied is if you want to haul sheet material (4X8), it's not quite 48 inches between the uprights. I fixed by drilling a couple of extra holes to be able to extend the uprights out just a smidge. Only another 1/4 inch out is enough but just put new holes out as close to the last ones as you can and you'll be fine. Then you've got your 48 inches (if you need it). This might void any warranty or return possibility because you've modified it but worth the risk to me to get that full 48 inch capability. Still plenty strong enough to hold material from shifting. You don't want to overload this thing anyway. Worth the small effort to give it more capability. Some may never use it for sheet material. Final word, Well built! ... show more
