This light is cool! I was a little on the fence but am very happy I tried it. It’s well built, feels solid as in real wood, the staining looks beautiful and goes together in 3 steps (less than 1 min assembly). I saw there may be stain color variations based on other reviews. Mine came as a deep mahogany (a deep red color). I’m not sure how this would stand on a carpet setting but for a hard floor the base is very heavy and will not tip over easily. I like this lamp a lot, it makes a big fashion statement in my dining room. The only complaint is that the color is much lighter from what they show on the buying page. I was looking for something darker, like their pictures show, but I guess because it is made out of wood, I can probably try to stain it in a darker tone at some point. ... show more

My first attempt at a review was not approved. Now I understand that a lot of the less favorable reviews might not be posted for some reason, and that is why there are so many high-star and rave ratings about this product when it is really not that great. The color is much lighter than shown in any of the manufacturer photos. The entire lamp, both base and shade, looks cheap and plastic. The shade doesn’t exactly line up with the base, no matter what you do. It’s just poor quality for such an expensive lamp. I sent it back. I am interested to see whether this review gets approved, or whether they are censoring real opinions about this overpriced product. ... show more

I have two of these,one each at two opposite corners of my bedroom. Each has a 19W/100W equivalent LED bulb (other reviews are incorrect that LEDs are inappropriate for this lamp), and together they light the entire 12X14 bedroom with an even, soft light. They are attractive and work well with the light green walls. A couple of minor gripes that have nothing to do with the lamp's quality: the glass in each was dusty and gritty when they arrived, and had to be removed by careful washing. Second, they were packed in tons of styrofoam, which besides being bad for the environment got stuck to the floor, walls, my clothes -- you get the picture. ... show more

Beautiful modern style floor lamp. Lamp will take a high watt bulb, but I only have a 40 watt bulb in mine. This lights up an end of a large great room. I started out with a 100 watt, but the glass shade was so bright you could not look at the shade area of the lamp. This becomes an economical pro of this floor lamp. First lamp arrived with a broken shade and Amazon sent out a replacement lamp pronto. Second one arrived in perfect condition. Wood base is not a dark walnut in color. Mine looks like a warm brown teak. Which was my second pro for this lamp as I have many teak furniture pieces. The two pieces of the wood base fit together very well and assembly takes only minutes. We' re very happy with this purchase. Highly recommend if sleek modern is your style choice. ... show more

As others have said- this is not espresso colored lamp, it is very orange and nice for what it is. The lamp comes in two pieces and the area they connect at was damaged- clearly visible when put together. The two pieces also do not line us perfectly. All in all I do like the lamp- wish it didn't have the defects. But comparing what the lamp costs vs other lamps- this style is nice (West Elm has a similar one for 600), it is a substantial lamp, and attractive. Just be aware of the cons. ... show more

I really do like this lamp; it will be a permanent feature in my livingroom for sure. As I've read in other reviews, the tone of the wood is about a shade and a half lighter than shown, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, but very attractive nevertheless. It is a heavy lamp; it will not tip over easy. The globe also is a nice sturdy medium - not thin and cheap. It assembles easily. Gives good corner light. My credit card still sports a band-aide for the price, but it is a good quality product. ... show more

    • Awesome Lamp...Dimmer can be Attached!!

I fell in love with this lamp and have had my eye on this lamp for around 6 months. I've watched the pricing on this lamp fluctuate from $198 to $310 then down to $157. When it dropped down to $157, I knew it wouldn't get any cheaper, so I ordered it. When it arrived, I was very pleased with Dark Walnut Finish, it matched our furniture perfectly. I was also happy it was %100 Solid Wood with a Glass Lighting Fixture. My only issue, was that it did not have a light dimming switch. After doing some research on Amazon, I ordered the Litron TT Dimming Switch ($12.14). When it arrived, I then ordered an 150 watt 3 way/ Dimmable bulb and was able to easily dim the light on my lamp. I later tried using a 3 way 150 watt energy saving L.E.D bulb, but I was unable to find an energy saving bulb that didn't make a buzzing sound whenever I dimmed the light, so I went back to using a regular incandescent bulb. Overall, I love this lamp; it's modern looking and unique without looking weird. Hopefully I can find an energy saving bulb that doesn't make a buzzing sound when I use the dimmer.... ... show more
